A plurality of bristles each have a first free end and a second bounded end, where the second bounded end is configured to be received in the recess formed in the generally cylindrical body second end. In various embodiments, the free ends of a first group of the plurality of bristles are recessed with respect to the free ends of a second group of the plurality of bristles. Furthermore, the first group of the plurality of bristles is positioned radially closer to the central axis than the second group of the plurality of bristles.

A vibrating device is enabled to vibrate the brush bristle end to produce sonic vibrations. A metal anode is the handle and exposed on an outside of the handle and an cathode is positioned near or at the brush bristle end. An electronic circuit substantially within the handle has a mode switch operable to provide electrical potential to the metal anode, the mode switch also operable to cause activation of the vibrating device. A user using the toothbrush completes an electrical circuit to enable ions to flow from the cathode.

摘要： A formable handle toothbrush has a handle portion that allows a user to heat and form the handle to the shape of their hand to provide for more secure grip of the toothbrush. In one embodiment, a hand formable toothbrush has a toothbrush head attached to a shank that can be inserted into a socket within the toothbrush handle. This configuration allows for the use of replacement toothbrush heads. This makes manufacturing of higher cost handles more economical, as the formable handle portions would not be thrown out when the toothbrush head needs replacement. To customize the formable handle portion, a user may simply place the toothbrush, or handle portion of the toothbrush, in boiling water for a period of time and then remove the toothbrush handle, allow it to cool to a safe temperature and then grasp the handle to form it into the shape of their hand.

摘要： An apparatus for detecting the presence of a substance on a surface includes a proximal pump portion and at least one distal probe portion configured to be immersed in a first fluid. The proximal pump portion and the distal probe portion are in fluid communication with one another. The distal probe portion defines a distal tip having an open port to enable the passage of a second fluid therethrough. The apparatus is configured such that passage of the second fluid through the distal tip enables detection of a substance that may be present on the surface based on measurement of a signal correlating to, in proximity to the surface, one or more bubbles generated by the second fluid in the first fluid. A corresponding method of detection includes probing the properties of an interaction zone via outflow of the second fluid medium from the surface.
