摘要： An article in the form of a handbag for carrying fishing tackle. The bag is made with rear, middle and front walls, and joined in the center to form large rear and frontal pockets side by side. The rear pockets can be secured at the middle by snap fasteners; and the middle wall carries flaps to close over the frontal pockets with snap fasteners. In front of the frontal pockets are low pockets, also closable by snap fasteners. The bag is designed to be worn in front by the fisherman like an apron; and it secures support from the waist belt of the wearer by being made with upward straps at the center and sides which loop over the belt and are secured to the same in front by snap fasteners.

The vest is contoured to the shape of a person's body, limiting the jostling of the vest and integrally attached bag as the person moves. One advantageous feature of the convertible bag is that its size can adapt to the desired contents: the upper portion of the bag acts either as a flap for the lower portion, or as a vertical extension of the lower portion when the bag contents are more voluminous. Further, the vest portion sits high on the chest of the person wearing the vest. This increases comfort to the person by distributing the weight better, and reduces sweating, particularly during physical activity such as riding a bicycle.

The sheet may be one or several layers and may have any shaped perimeter including octagonal, square, or circular. One or more gatherers are disposed about the perimeter of the sheet and a permanent or removeable grip is attached to one of the gatherers. The gatherers may be two or more handles, two or more ties, or a continuous drawstring that is threaded through a channel around the perimeter of the sheet and exposed at two or more locations around the perimeter of the sheet. The grip may include a fastener for securing it around the gatherers. When an item or many items are placed on the sheet, the gatherers can be collected or secured together with the grip. When the sheet is lifted by the grip, the sheet becomes a carrying apparatus for the items originally placed on the sheet. When desired, the carrying bag can set down, the grip can be unfastened, and the sheet can again lay flat.
