    • Provided is a walking stick including an elongated shaft having a waste receptacle oriented along its length. The waste receptacle and may house various articles, including new and used fecal matter waste bags. The walking stick may offer walking support to dog walkers and aid in the disposal of fecal matter produced by the dog. In one embodiment, a walking stick is provided, the walking stick including: an elongated shaft having: a first body, the first body terminated by a first end; a second body, the second body terminated by a second end; a handle, the handle mounted on the first end; a foot, the foot mounted on a terminal end at or near the second end; a waste receptacle, the waste receptacle located medially along the elongated shaft and bisecting the first body and the second body.

    • This is an apparatus for eliminating pain associated with walking in individuals with knee, lower leg or foot infirmities. The apparatus is comprised of a specially designed cane (14) attached to a brace (10) that encircles the upper leg in the thigh area. The cane freely passes through a positioning loop (36) strapped in the ankle area and extends a couple inches below the arch of the wearers foot. There is a self-locking knuckle joint (30) in the cane at the location of the wearers knee that bends in conformity with it to enable walking with a normal gait. The knuckle joint is designed to be enclosed and self-locked within the upper portion of the cane when weight is put upon the base of the cane and retracted when the leg is lifted. 100% of body weight is off-loaded to the thigh area.

    • The present invention relates to shock absorber insert for retro fitment into the body of an existing walking aid, such as a crutch, to dampen the impact force between the walking aid and a ground surface. Known shock absorbing walking aids can be relatively expensive to manufacture, heavy to use and do not provide for adjustment of the shock absorber. The shock absorber insert (1) of the present invention comprises a piston cylinder (11) with an end wall (11A); a piston (5) which moves axially within the piston cylinder (11) and a damper (10) located on a piston rod (9) and abut the end wall (11A) to reduce the speed of movement of the piston rod (9) within the piston cylinder (11). The shock absorber insert is either mid mounted between an upper (2) and lower (3) shaft or bottom mounted into a lower end of the lower (3) shaft.
