    • A charging circuit that simultaneously charges a battery with an electrical current supplied from an external power source and supplies the electrical current supplied from the external power source to a load includes a power supply circuit to supply an electrical current from the battery to the load when a load current required by the load is greater than a maximum supply current of the external power source, a detector to detect a voltage of the battery, and a controller to control power supply to the load as well as charging the battery. When the detected voltage of the battery is lower than the predetermined threshold, the controller stops supplying the electrical current from the battery to the load and charges the battery with the electrical current supplied from the external power source.

    • A switching power supply device includes a first control circuit that turns a first switch on when first and second switches are off and a voltage at a junction node therebetween is increased to decrease a voltage across the first switch to a first threshold voltage, turns off when a first ON-period has elapsed from when the first switch is turned on, and lengthens the first ON-period as an output voltage decreases relative to a reference voltage; and a second control circuit that turns the second switch on when both switches are off and a voltage across the second switch is decreased to a second threshold voltage, turns off when a reverse current flows through the inductor, sufficient to increase the voltage at the junction node to decrease the voltage across the first switch to the first threshold voltage after the second switch is turned off.

    • A switching regulator includes a switching element to generate an output voltage, a reference voltage source to generate a reference voltage, a soft-start circuit to set the reference voltage increasing gradually within a range, an error amplifier circuit to generate an error difference voltage indicating an error difference between the reference voltage and feedback voltage of the output voltage of the switching regulator, a switching circuit to generate a switching signal to control the switching element in response to the error difference voltage, and a current limiting circuit to generate a limiting signal indicating a comparison result between an current into the switching element and a limit being set to increase within a range, wherein the switching circuit controls a duty cycle of the switching signal so that the current through the switching element does not exceed the limit in response to the limiting signal.
