    • A method and system for full text search (FTS) using a navigation system is disclosed. The FTS system generates vectors for documents that are stored in a database. The vectors are formed by converting data token pairs to binary or hexadecimal strings. The FTS system may generate and store vectors in a multi-dimensional index (e.g., an R-Tree) for each document stored in the database. The FTS system may receive two or more search terms inputted by a user and generate one or more vectors based on the inputted search terms. The FTS system may then use the generated vectors to query the multi-dimensional index.

    • One or more systems, devices, and/or methods for emphasizing objects in an image, such as a panoramic image, are disclosed. For example, a method includes receiving a depthmap generated from an optical distancing system, wherein the depthmap includes position data and depth data for each of a plurality of points. The optical distancing system measures physical data. The depthmap is overlaid on the panoramic image according to the position data. Data is received that indicates a location on the panoramic image and, accordingly, a first point of the plurality of points that is associated with the location. The depth data of the first point is compared to depth data of surrounding points to identify an area on the panoramic image corresponding to a subset of the surrounding points. The panoramic image is altered with a graphical effect that indicates the location.

    • A method and system for calculating an energy efficient route is disclosed. A route calculation application calculates one or more routes from an origin to a destination. For each of the routes, the route calculation application uses segment cost data associated with each segment in the route. The segment cost is calculated by adjusting an energy consumption value by subtracting a bias term for each segment with known slope data. The bias term causes segment costs associated with segments having a slope that can be traveled with typical efficiency, a zero slope, and an unknown slope to be substantially the same. The bias term also causes the segment cost associated with a segment with a slope that can be traveled efficiently to be less than the segment cost associated with a segment with unknown slope, and the segment cost associated with a segment with a slope that causes inefficient travel to be greater than the segment cost associated with a segment with unknown slope.

    • A system and method are provided for forming a map database with attributed data which represents roadways attributed as no-outlet or circular segments. The method includes identifying a segment from a first node to a second node, where the second node is connected to an isolated portion of a road network. The method further includes storing a data attribute into the map database that represents the segment as a road that connects the road network at the first node to the isolated portion of the road network at the second node. The data attribute may represent the segment as a no-outlet segment or a circular segment. A no-outlet segment represents a roadway or portion of a roadway that terminates or returns back to the roadway or portion thereof. A circular segment represents a roadway or portion of a roadway that intersects with a geographic feature, such as a road, and where the roadway or portion thereof leads back to the same geographic feature. The attributed segment may provide directional information to determine the directional nature of the no-outlet or circular segment. The map database with attributed data is particularly useful for route calculation in navigation systems and related applications.
