    • A multiple position push-on electrical connector has a housing and at least two sets of bores extending through the housing. The connector also includes a plurality of electrical conductors that extend beyond a first face of the connector and are electrically insulated from the housing. The electrical conductors are capable of transmitting DC signals through the connector. A multiple position push-on electrical mating connector has housing, a first set of bores extending through the housing and a plurality of electrical conductors for transmitting DC signals through the housing. The two connectors are preferably configured to mate with one another and communicate with a device to which the multiple position push-on electrical connector is connected.

    • A connector is provided for coupling an end of a coaxial cable to a terminal, such as a cable terminal, a terminal for coupling to another connector, and the like The connector includes a coupler, such as a nut, having a receiving port for engaging the terminal. The coupler also includes an annular collar. The connector also includes a body member, one end of which includes a lip. The lip is inserted through the collar opening. The other end of the body section includes an inner surface portion. The connector still further includes a post, an end of which is sized for insertion between the dielectric and the outer conductor of the cable. The post further includes a post flange and a post shank. The post shank forms a post channel sufficient in diameter to receive the inner conductor and the dielectric of the cable. The post is movable between a cable-insertion position and a cable-installed position. In the cable-installed position, the post shank is received in the body member to form an annular chamber between the post shank and the inner surface portion. The annular chamber is sufficiently narrow in this cable-installed position to compress the outer conductor and the jacket with the post shank and the inner surface portion for establishing a distal seal. Tightening of the coupler to the terminal compresses the lip between the post flange and the annular collar for establishing a proximal seal. Related methods also are provided.

    • An axially-compressible connector (200) for a hardline coaxial cable (1000) has a housing that includes a body (202), a coupling nut (210) and a compression can (208). A nonmetallic sleeve (302), which is mounted within the housing, has a tubular portion and an integral insulator portion. The insulator portion holds a contact (306) that has arms (311–314) for seizing an inner conductor (1002) of the hardline coaxial cable. A ferrule (408) is slip fit mounted within the housing, and seizes an outer conductor (1006) of the hardline coaxial cable. A gripping member (414) is mounted within the housing and seizes a jacket (1008) of the hardline coaxial cable. An actuator (412), which is mounted within the housing around a portion of the tubular portion of the sleeve, has an angled surface (413) to guide an end of the outer conductor toward the tubular portion of the sleeve, as the tubular portion of the sleeve is inserted into the end of the coaxial cable. The jacket is gripped by the gripping member only after the outer conductor is seized by the ferrule.

    • Disclosed is a coaxial connector consisting of a back nut, outer and inner terminals, and an insulator. The back nut is made of a single tubular piece and does not enclose any further parts. In connecting a coaxial cable to the connector, the cable is inserted through the back nut, and a portion of the outer conductor at the end of the cable is flared and shaped along a tapered clamping face of the back nut. The back nut is then axially displaced, as by threading the back nut over the outer terminal, to clamp the flared end of the outer conductor of the coaxial cable between the outer terminal of the connector and the back nut thereof.

The coaxial cable has an inner conductor, a dielectric surrounding the inner conductor, an outer conductor surrounding the dielectric, and a jacket surrounding the outer conductor is disclosed. The coaxial cable connector comprises a body, a coupler rotatably attached to the body, and a post secured to the body. The post has a structural feature. A grounding member is disposed between the post and the coupler in the structural feature. The grounding member establishes an electrical grounding path which may be maintained between coupler and post, including, when the coupler is not tightly fastened to a terminal and without restricting rotation of coupler relative to post.
