    • A lamp unit for a headlamp of a vehicle includes a projection lens, a light emitting device disposed on a rear side of the projection lens, a reflector, and a mirror member having an upwardly reflecting surface. The reflector forwardly reflects light from the light emitting device toward an optical axis, and the upwardly reflecting surface upwardly reflects part of the light reflected by the reflector. The upwardly reflecting surface includes a first horizontal surface disposed on a self-lane side of the optical axis, a second horizontal surface disposed on an opposing-lane side of the optical axis, and an intermediate slope surface connecting the first and second horizontal surfaces. The intermediate slope surface includes a front slope surface and a rear slope surface on the rear side of the front slope surface, and the rear slope surface is curved.

    • A vehicular headlamp apparatus includes: a lamp body; a translucent cover having a slanted portion; and a lamp unit. A semiconductor light-emitting element is mounted on a mounting surface so that its irradiation axis intersects with lamp unit's optical axis. Reflector's reflective surface reflects light from the semiconductor light-emitting element toward a vehicle front.     • A lamp unit is provided. The lamp unit includes a light emitting element disposed on an optical axis so as to face in a direction substantially orthogonal to the optical axis, a first reflector facing the light emitting element to forwardly reflect light from the light emitting element, and a direct light control member disposed in front of the light emitting element for controlling direct light directed toward a region in front of the first reflector from the light emitting element without being incident on the first reflector. The direct light control member includes a first lens portion which deflects a first portion of the direct light in a direction approaching the optical axis, and an extended portion extending from the first lens portion. The extended portion controls a second portion of the direct light differently from the first lens portion.

    • The lamp unit for a vehicle is configured such that light incident into a translucent member from a light emitting element is sequentially reflected by the inner surfaces of first and second reflecting surfaces, and then irradiated from an irradiating surface in the lamp unit forward direction.
