    • The invention provides a network system which can prevent an illegal access to a network or the like set in a specific area and improve security of the network. The network system permits the entering of the user into a security area in accordance with security information (user ID) read out of a contactless IC in a carrying ID card by an entering/leaving room managing apparatus and registers an MAC address of a notebook computer carried by the user when he enters the security area to a managing server as ID information corresponding to the user ID. When a leaving request of the user is received through the entering/leaving room managing apparatus, the network system deletes the registered ID information and restricts connection between the notebook computer and the network on the basis of a registration situation of the ID information to the managing server.

    • An image transfer method and an image transfer system use a system having a personal computer (PC) and a facsimile apparatus and another system having another facsimile apparatus and a plurality of photocopiers which are connected by a local area network (LAN). Both systems are connected to a public circuit. The two facsimile apparatuses are connected by the public circuit. One photocopier to which image data generated by the PC is outputted is designated. The page-description language capable of being processed by the designated photocopier is automatically selected, and the image data is generated based on the selected page-description language, and is transferred to the designated photocopier. In addition, in accordance with a communication load of the LAN, connection to the public circuit is broken or restored. The optimum page-description language selected based on the function of each photocopier is transferred to the photocopier capable of processing the selected optimum page-description language, and subsequently, the connection to the public circuit is broken.

    • An image output request (representing that image data is stored in a memory) is transmitted from the system on the transmitting side to the system on the receiving side. This image output request includes information such as the name of transmission source and an area where the image data is stored. Upon reception of this image output request, the system on the receiving side notifies the system on the transmitting side of reception of this request. The network is temporarily disconnected.
