    • An expandable tree protection device covers an area surrounding a tree trunk and provides for expansion to accommodate growth of the tree trunk over time. The device includes a tray comprising a top wall and a perimeter wall coupled to and extending around a peripheral edge of the top wall. The tray has an aperture extending through the top wall for receiving a tree trunk therethrough. Each of a plurality of panels is slidably coupled to the top wall extend into the aperture covering an associated portion of the aperture. A respective interior edge of each panel is slidable outwardly away from a center of the aperture for expansion exposing a larger area of the aperture as the tree trunk grows.

    • In general, embodiments of the present invention classify cloud computing environments based on the abstraction layers that the cloud computing environments span and by combining the re-usable capabilities/logical components from these layers. In a typical embodiment, input (e.g., a set of requirements, a set of preferences, a set of costs parameters, and/or a request for feedback) pertaining to a set of services available in the networked computing environment is received from a requester via a network node. Based on the input, a set of capabilities and a corresponding set of logical components of the networked computing environment are identified. Thereafter, a set of providers capable of providing at least one of the set of services is identified and ranked. The set of logical components is then configured to provide the set of services according to the input, and made available to the requester.

    • A method that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, receiving at a media resource center a first pairing key from a first mobile device server and enabling the first mobile device to access at least one media device based on the first pairing key, where the at least one media device is operably coupled with the media resource center, where the first mobile devices provides media services by executing a web server application that utilizes the at least one media device, and where the first mobile device communicates with a second mobile device server to provide the media services.
