    • A method for facilitating remote downloading, in accordance with particular embodiments, includes receiving, at a proxy server maintained by a wireless service provider, a remote download request. The remote download request is relayed to the proxy server via at least one component of a wireless service provider's network. The remote download request includes an address associated with at least one file hosted by a remote server. The method also includes downloading the at least one file from the remote server to the proxy server. Upon detecting a presence of the endpoint, the method includes transferring the at least one file from the proxy server to the endpoint via a femto base station associated with the endpoint.

    • In accordance with particular embodiments, a method includes providing one or more network tuning constants associated with one or more base stations of a wireless network. The network tuning constants are configured to adjust an equilibrium point of a first bandwidth allocation among the one or more base stations. The method also includes receiving one or more signal performance values from each of the one or more base stations in the wireless network. The method further includes determining whether at least one of the one or more network tuning constants needs to be adjusted. The method additionally includes, upon determining that at least one of the one or more network tuning constants needs to be adjusted, adjusting the one or more network tuning constants based at least in part on the one or more signal performance values.

    • A method, that comprises selecting for simulation a first cell comprising a access station. The method also includes determining a first cell pattern comprising a first plurality of cells surrounding the first cell. The method additionally includes simulating, for each cell of the first plurality of cells, at least one wireless parameter associated with at least one wireless signal. The method further includes determining a second cell pattern comprising a second plurality of cells surrounding the first cell pattern. Each cell of the second plurality of cells comprises a copy of a simulation result of a corresponding cell of the first plurality of cells. The method also includes simulating, for the first cell, at least one wireless parameter associated with at least one wireless connection. The simulation is based on the simulation results of the first plurality of cells and the copied simulation results of the second plurality of cells.

    • A method for adjusting power distribution that includes establishing a connection between a base station and a plurality of remote transceivers. The method also includes establishing a plurality of wireless connections with a plurality of endpoints via one or more of the plurality of remote transceivers. The method further includes receiving a signal quality indication from each of the plurality of remote transceivers for any endpoint for which the remote transceiver is able to receive a wireless communication. The method additionally includes determining a power distribution for the plurality of remote transceivers based on the received signal quality indication from each of the remote transceivers. The method also includes transmitting a control signal to the plurality of remote transceivers. The control signal comprises the power distribution and is indicative of the amount of power each remote transceiver is to use for each endpoint when transmitting wireless communications.

    • A method for assigning channels in a wireless network includes receiving from each of a plurality of a first type of wireless components a total average data rate. Each total average data rate is based on an average data rate for each of a first plurality of a second type of wireless components coupled to the respective first type of wireless component.     • In one embodiment, a method for wireless communication includes providing, at a base station, access to a network to a preferred endpoint. The method includes sending, at the base station, at least one cryptographic parameter to the preferred endpoint. In addition, the method includes receiving, at the base station, a plurality of ranging codes from the preferred endpoint. The plurality of ranging codes are received after the base station has ceased providing the preferred endpoint access to the network. Also, the method includes determining, at the base station, that the plurality of received ranging codes correspond to a plurality of ranging codes of a predetermined set of ranging codes. The predetermined set of ranging codes is determined utilizing the at least one cryptographic parameter. Further, the method includes providing, at the base station, an entrance to the network to the preferred endpoint in response to determining that the plurality of received ranging codes correspond to the plurality of ranging codes of the predetermined set of ranging codes.
