    • Electrowetting devices (EWD) are presented. The electrowetting device includes a first substrate and an opposing second substrate with a polar fluid layer and a non-polar fluid layer interposed therebetween. A first transparent electrode is disposed on the first substrate. A second electrode is disposed on the second substrate. A first partition structure is disposed on the first substrate; thereby defining a plurality of color sub-pixels. A dye and/or a pigment substance is doped in one of the polar fluid layer and the non-polar fluid layer. A luminescence substance is doped in one of the polar fluid layer and the non-polar fluid layer. An emission module (also known as an excitation module) is disposed underlying the bottom of the first substrate. The colors of the non-polar fluid layer in the neighboring sub-pixels are different.

    • A light valve unit may include a first conductive layer and a second conductive layer disposed on opposite sides of each other with respect to a plurality of cells in which at least some of the cells include a first material and a second material. The first material may have a lower light transmissivity property than the second material and a position of the first material within a corresponding cell may be changeable responsive to application of an electric field between the first and second conductive layers. The second conductive layer may include at least two electrodes and a gap defined between the two electrodes. A portion of the light valve unit adjacent to the gap may be configured to have a transmissivity that is substantially less than transmissivity of a portion of the light valve unit adjacent to cells across which the electric field is applied, but greater than or equal to transmissivity of a portion of the light valve unit adjacent to cells across which the electric field is not applied.

The display includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a hydrophobic layer, a nonpolar liquid layer, a hydrophilic separator, a polar liquid layer, and a protruding spacer. The first and second substrates respectively include an opposing surface, and are disposed in a way that the opposing surfaces are face-to-face opposing to each other. The hydrophobic layer overlies the opposing surface of the second substrate. The nonpolar liquid layer overlies the hydrophobic layer. The hydrophilic separator overlies the hydrophobic layer and surrounds the nonpolar liquid layer. The polar liquid layer overlies the nonpolar liquid layer.     • A system for inspecting a flexible device is provided, which is used for performing a performance inspection on a flexible device in a bending state, or after the flexible device has finished bending test so as to obtain a mechanical reliability. The inspecting system includes: at least one bending unit with at least one curvature; a conveyor unit used for conveying the flexible device so that a portion of the flexible device is passed through the bending unit and is bent into a bending portion; an inspecting unit performs a performance inspection on the flexible device. The performance inspection includes electrical, optical, or opto-electric inspection, and an inspection result can be recorded, displayed or both. The inspected flexible devices may be a flexible display device with complete or incomplete electrode thereon. In addition, a method for inspecting a flexible device is also provided.

    • A display module is provided, which includes a first and a second substrates, a transparent type solar cell, a display device, an electric power storage device, a driving circuit and a power supply transfer switch. In the display module, the first substrate, the transparent type solar cell, the display device and the second substrate are successively arranged according to an incident direction of a light source. The transparent type solar cell has a visible light transmittance of 10%-40% and a color temperature (Tc) larger than 2400K. The electric power storage device is connected to the transparent type solar cell for storing electric power there from, and the driving circuit is connected to the display device for driving the same. The power supply transfer switch is used for transferring the electric power into the electric power storage device or the driving circuit.
