A false-closure detection device includes a measuring device and a diagnostic device for the detection of faults. The measuring device is connected parallel to the power switches and the electrical consumer lying in series with the switches. A diagnostic voltage is compared as the output signal of the measuring device with a reference value for the detection of false closures in the load circuit.
