摘要： There is disclosed an image forming apparatus capable of double-sided or overlay copying at high speed. While a sheet having initially copied a first original document is still being transported to an intermediate tray inside the apparatus, an image forming operation on a second document is started, and one of the initially copied sheets in the intermediate tray starts to be refed therefrom for secondary copying. If the designated number of copying sheets is larger than a predetermined value and when the number of times the image forming operation is performed has exceeded that value, the start of the subsequent image forming operation is delayed by a predetermined time so as to provide the currently transported sheet with an extended distance relative to the preceding sheet. Thus there occurs no interference or feed-related trouble between the sheet which copied the first document and which is being transported to the intermediate tray on the one hand, and the sheet refed from the same tray upon starting of an image forming operation on the second document on the other hand.

摘要： A sheet reversing apparatus which has a take-in path, a reversing path which extends from the take-in path in a substantially same direction, a take-out path which extends from a junction of the take-in path and the reversing path in a substantially perpendicular direction to the extending direction of the reversing path. A sheet is fed from the take-in path to the reversing path, and when the trailing edge of the sheet comes out of the take-in path, the sheet is fed back from the reversing path to the take-out path. In an entrance portion of the reversing path, a first reversing roller which is driven to rotate in a feed-back direction toward the take-in path and a second reversing roller which is capable of coming into contact with and moving away from the first reversing roller are provided. The second reversing roller is away from the first reversing roller until the trailing edge of a sheet comes out of the take-in path, and comes into contact with the first reversing roller after the trailing edge comes out of the take-in path.

摘要： In a document processing apparatus wherein a format of a document or the like is set, a plurality of possible format patterns are simultaneously displayed, and a selection of a desirable format pattern among said format patterns is made so as to perform a format setting operation. Displays of the format patterns are subdivided into a plurality of screens based on a purpose or usage of a document to be formed. After selecting or designating the purpose or usage of the document, the above-described format pattern is displayed. The document format setting operation which was cumbersome in prior art can be readily performed by selecting a desirable format sample from the format samples which have been categorized based upon the usage thereof, and also by adding an item capable of freely setting a format into the format samples.
