    • According to an aspect of the present invention, an image processing method for extracting a pixel having a specific feature includes: extracting pixels representing an object, to which the pixel having the specific feature belongs, from a given input image based on an image feature other than color; extracting principal colors from the pixels; selecting, from a plurality of pre-trained color distribution models deposited in a repository, a color distribution model closest in distance metric, which indicates distance relative to the extracted principal colors, to the extracted principal colors by performing a search through the repository using the extracted principal colors; and segmenting the input image by categorizing pixels in the input image using the selected color distribution model.

    • An image processing apparatus that generates a pattern of a colorless recording material to form an image using the colorless recording material includes: a region dividing unit that divides an input image into a plurality of regions as divided regions using a designated algorithm and pixel values of pixels that form the image; a spatial-frequency calculating unit that calculates spatial frequencies in each of the divided regions into which the image has been divided using pixel values in the divided region; and a pattern generating unit that generates a pattern of the colorless recording material, which is set to each of the divided regions, using the calculated spatial frequencies and a line pattern having a preset line width.

    • A transmitting-side device and a receiving-side device are connected to each other with a parallel bus that carries transmit data and an error-correcting code based on this transmit data in parallel. The transmitting-side device includes a signal inversion unit for inverting a signal to be sent to the parallel bus. The receiving-side device includes a signal inversion unit for inverting a received signal from the parallel bus, and an error detection unit for performing error detection and error correction based on a signal output from the signal inversion unit. The signal inversion unit of the transmitting-side device inverts a signal to be sent to all bus lines of the parallel bus and the signal inversion unit of the receiving-side device inverts the signal received from the all bus lines, which enables the error detection unit to perform error check on the parallel bus.
