    • A pitch period extracting apparatus includes a microcomputer which determines a sampling frequency for an A/D converter, and a range of delay times for calculating autocorrelative values on the basis of the sampling frequency. For example, the delay times are set within a range of 20 samples≦k≦100 samples in a case of 8 kHz, and a range of 15 samples≦k≦75 samples in a case of 6 kHz. The microcomputer calculates the autocorrelative values of speech signal data stored in a buffer memory, and outputs a delay time at which a maximum autocorrelative value is obtainable as a pitch period of an inputted speech signal.

    • A central differential for a four-wheel drive motor vehicle is provided on a pair of axles for right and left drive wheels. The differential has a tubular member secured to a final gear of a transmission, a pair of carriers one of which is connected to the drive wheels and the other carrier is operatively connected to the other drive wheels. A pair of annular side gears are securely provided on the tubular member, and an annular center gear rotatably mounted on the tubular member between the side gears. A pair of planetary gears are rotatably supported in the corresponding carrier. Each planetary gear comprises a pair of planet pinions, one of which is engaged with the side gear and the other is engaged with the center gear.

    • The invention provides a novel class of organosilicon compounds useful as a curing agent in a room temperature curable organopolysiloxane composition, which is represented by the general structural formulaR.sub.2 CH--CR.dbd.C(OR)--O--Si(R.sup.1).sub.3-m (O--CR.dbd.CH--R).sub.m,in which each R is a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group independently from the others, R.sup.1, if any, is a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group and the suffix m is 2 or 3. The compound can readily be synthesized by the reaction of an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated ester compound represented by the general formulaR.sub.2 C.dbd.CR--CO--OR,and an alkenyloxy-containing silane compound represented by the general formulaHSi(R.sup.1).sub.3-m (O--CR.dbd.CH--R).sub.m,in which R.sup.1, R and m each have the meaning as defined above, in the presence of a rhodium compound as a catalyst. The room temperature curable composition is formulated with (a) 100 parts by weight of a diorganopolysiloxane terminated at both molecular chain ends each with a silanolic hydroxy group and having a viscosity in the range from 100 to 1,000,000 centistokes at 25.degree. C.; (b) from 2 to 40 parts by weight of the novel organosilicon compound and (c) from 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of a curing accelerator which is preferably a 2-guanidino-containing organosilicon compound.

    • An echo prevention circuit comprises an input terminal to which a first input signal is input; a first FIR filter into which the first input signal is input through the input terminal; a second FIR filter into which the first input signal is input at the same time as into the first FIR filter; an input/output terminal to which an output signal of the first FIR filter is output or a second input signal is input; a subtracter that subtracts an output signal of the second FIR filter from a combined signal of the output signal of the first FIR filter and the second input signal; and an output terminal to which an output signal of the subtracter is output. The first and the second FIR filters have such filter coefficients that the output signal through the output terminal has only the output signal from the first FIR filter removed.
