    • Disclosed is a specific adhesive polyethylene composition comprising [1] a modified ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer resin or elastomer obtained by modifying a specific ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer resin or elastomer, each of which comprises ethylene and an &agr;-olefin of 3 to 20 carbon atoms, with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or anhydride, ester, amide, imide or metallic salt derivative of a unsaturated carboxylic acid thereof, [2] an unmodified ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer resin and/or an unmodified ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer elastomer and [3] a tackifier. Also disclosed is a multi-layer laminated film of 3 or more layers in which a layer of the above composition is interposed between an ethylene polymer layer and either a polyamide resin layer, an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer layer or a layer of a mixture of polyamide resin and ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer. The adhesive polyethylene composition shows excellent adhesion strength to ethylene polymers, polyamide resins and ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymers, high heat-sealing strength and heat resistance. The multi-layer laminated film shows excellent strength, heat resistance and gas barrier properties, and besides this film has heat shrinkability, so that the film is suitably used as a shrink film.

    • The semiconductor device having both vertically arranged CCDs and a horizontal CCD, such as, in connection with a solid state image pickup device, is provided with a horizontal CCD in which the transfer speed and the transfer efficiency of a horizontal CCD thereof is improved substantially. The depletion region extending from a channel of the vertical CCDs and the depletion region produced between the underlying substrate and the well, however, do not meet each other under each of the transfer electrodes thereof.

    • A multifunction switching control system includes: a sewing speed controller of a computerized sewing machine controlled in response to a voltage of a sliding terminal of a variable resistor incorporated in the controller; an invariable resistor; a first A/D converter for converting the voltage from an analog signal to a first digital signal; and a second A/D converter for converting a voltage at a fixed terminal of the variable resistor from an analog signal to a second digital signal. A switch circuit for directly connecting one terminal of the invariable resistor to the fixed terminal of the variable resistor is provided in the controller. By comparing the second digital signal with a preset value, it is determined whether or not the switch circuit is so operated. In case that the switch circuit is so operated, sewing operation other than sewing speed controls of the machine are conducted.
