摘要： The snowshoe has a hinge member for mounting a harness to the snowshoe's frame, the hinge member having a rigid pivot rod for extending between first and second side segments of the frame and comprising opposite first and second end portions, the pivot rod for pivotally receiving the harness. The hinge member also includes a first rigid rod attachment mount having a first frame socket for pivotal attachment to the frame first side segment so as to be pivotable about the frame first side segment, and a first rod socket wherein the rigid pivot rod first end portion is pivotally mounted, the first rod socket being spaced apart from the first frame socket so as to allow the pivot rod to pivot about an axis which is generally parallel to and spaced from the first frame socket. The hinge member further includes a second rigid rod attachment mount having a second frame socket for pivotal attachment to the frame second side segment so as to be pivotable about the frame second side segment, and a second rod socket wherein the rigid pivot rod second end portion is pivotally mounted, the second rod socket being spaced apart from the second frame socket so as to allow the pivot rod to pivot about an axis which is generally parallel to and spaced from the second frame socket.

摘要： The snowshoe defines opposite front and rear ends, opposite first and second sides and opposite top and bottom surfaces and comprises a rigid peripheral frame member comprising a top portion corresponding to the top surface of the snowshoe and a bottom portion corresponding to the bottom surface of the snowshoe and having a frame member thickness defined between the top and bottom portions. The snowshoe also has a decking that is at least semi-rigid and that comprises a central load-bearing portion and a number of tongue members fixed to the load-bearing portion and attached to the frame member whereby the frame member carries the decking. The snowshoe further has a harness pivotally attached to either one of the decking and the frame member for allowing a person's foot to be releasably attached to the snowshoe. The tongue members have a staggered attachment configuration relative to the thickness of the frame member.

摘要： The snowshoe includes a closed loop frame carrying an intermediate decking attached to the frame. The decking is made from a full sheet of semi-flexible plastic material, and is peripherally attached to the frame. A toe hole is provided at the front end portion of the decking. On its edge rearwardly adjacent to the toe hole, the decking forms an integral first hinge, in the form of an arcuate boss having an upwardly convex upper surface, and a downwardly concave lower surface. A harness is pivotally attached to the decking. The harness has a cradle plate made of semi-flexible plastic material, and a flexible strap attached thereto. The cradle has an upper surface for receiving the foot of the person wearing the snowshoe, and a lower surface which forms an integral second hinge, in the form of an arcuate seat and a pair of cylindrical lugs spacedly adjacent to the arcuate seat. The cradle second hinge is releasably engaged in the decking first hinge, the decking arcuate boss being slidingly engaged between the cradle lugs and the cradle seat, so that the decking supports the cradle.
