摘要： A backlight assembly includes a light source generating light and a first optical member diffusing the light. The first optical member includes a first diffusion member provided on an exit surface of the first optical member, from which the light exits, to diffuse the light. The first diffusion member includes a plurality of edges each having a curved shape and extending between the exit surface and a vertex of the first diffusion member. Accordingly, the light exiting through the exit surface is effectively diffused by the edges of the first diffusion member.

Each optical member supporter is positioned at a center of a parallelogram defined by two adjacent first light emitting devices and two adjacent second light emitting devices, and each transparent optical member supporter includes a first surface that faces one of the first light emitting devices and a second surface opposite the first surface that faces one of the second light emitting devices. Each optical member supporter includes a plate portion having the first and second surfaces, and a hook portion that extends through the protective member. A width of the plate portion decreases with increasing distance from the hook portion.

摘要： A curved display device includes a backlight unit which generates light and a display panel which receives the generated light from the backlight unit. The backlight unit includes a light guide plate and is curved. The display panel is disposed on the curved backlight unit and is curved. The curved light guide plate defines a light incident surface thereof and an opposite surface. The light incident surface receives the light generated by the curved backlight unit. The opposite surface faces the light incident surface. A thickness of the curved light guide plate decreases from the light incident surface to the opposite surface.

摘要： A display apparatus includes a light guide plate, a light source unit and a display panel. The light guide plate includes an incident surface, an exit surface and an opposite surface opposite to the exit surface and guides a light incident into the incident surface toward the exit surface. The light source unit includes a light source which generates light and is disposed adjacent to the incident and has an emitting surface inclined with respect to the incident surface. An extension line of a normal line of the emitting surface passes through the opposite surface, and the light is incident into the incident surface while being inclined toward the opposite surface. The display panel displays an image by receiving the light emitted from the exit surface.
