    • A frequency generator comprises a quartz crystal controlled oscillator subjected to at least one variable physical parameter such as temperature and has an arrangement for calibrating the frequency with respect to a standard signal with simultaneous compensation for variations of the physical parameter(s). This arrangement comprises a first set of selectable memories storing values to control the division ratio in a dividing chain. These memories are inscribed in a learning period for a few values of the physical parameter(s); simultaneously, digital values supplied by at least one probe, each value corresponding to a range of values of the parameter, are stored in a second set of memories associated with the probe(s). During operation of the generator, a comparator compares the actual digital value supplied by the probe(s) with the values stored in the second set of memories, to select the corresponding memory of the first set for controlling the division ratio, at least one probe sensitive to a physical parameter of the environment, and means associated with each said probe to form selection signals each selection signal representing various possible values of the parameter considered in one of several ranges of values of said parameter, said electrically-alterable memory being arranged in groups to be selected by said selection signals and each corresponding to one of said ranges to memorize values determining the division ratio to be adopted as a function of said signals, the generator further comprising calibration selecting means for connecting the output of the frequency comparator to the inscription input of the selected memory group.

    • The display device includes a display cell including liquid crystals and a matrix of electrodes arranged in lines and columns in a closed cavity. The lines and columns define display cell pixels. The display device includes a control circuit for lines and columns for display of data on the display cell. In complete display mode, all lines and columns are addressed at several voltage levels by successive line-by-line multiplexing. In low power partial display mode, two groups of adjacent lines are joined so they are each controlled by a respective line control signal from the control circuit. The N lines and groups of lines are simultaneously addressed in active manner at two voltage levels. N line control signals include a series of N-bit binary line words that change every determined period of time, T, so 2N combinations of binary line words are present in each successive cycle of length 2N·T.

    • The electronic watch includes analogue display means (1) formed of at least one hand (2) driven by at least one motor (3), a time base (4) for controlling means (8) for driving said motor, a rechargeable power source (9), means (14) for stopping the motor (3) acting particularly on said drive means, and time counting means (18) in synchronism with said analogue display means (1) for a sufficient supply voltage. When the stopping means detect a power shortage, the display means are stopped and the corresponding value of the counting means is stored in storage means and the counting means continue to operate. As soon as the power supply is sufficient again, time difference calculating means (20) send time difference signals (21) between the stored value and the value of the counting means to the drive means in order to reset said analogue display means to the right time.
