摘要： A slurry is produced by adding to a polyimide precursor comprising carboxylic and diamine components at least one foam-enhancing polar, protic additive of the formula ROH, where R is hydrogen, or C.sub.1 to C.sub.12 linear or branched alkyl or cycloalkyl, affording a slurry. The slurry is then brought to a temperature in the range of about 40.degree. C. to about 105.degree. C., producing a homogeneous, transparent solution, opaque suspension, or melt. When heated to a higher temperature the melt foams and cures.

Additionally, some sites provide a user the ability to compare naturally similar things only. Claaang allows for any combination of objects to be given a rating, whether they are commonly or naturally similar or not. This may reveal insights about human perception. Claaang accepts user input or votes about similarity, uses votes to adjust overall similarity ratings, and displays current ratings when prompted. Claaang is best implemented from a single server on the internet, so that it is a worldwide project.

摘要： A tagging application (TA) is disclosed that comprises a web interface program (WIP) and a tagging program (TP). The WIP presents the facet tree by displaying elements of the facet tree selected by the user along with a known activation method for the user to select a facet element and to assign a value to the selected facet or facet element. The user may proceed to manually tag each facet and facet element by selecting a value representing the facet element to be tagged. The user may also eliminate manual selection of many of the facets and facet elements by choosing a tagging scenario and then applying the tagging scenario. Once the user has selected a tagging scenario, and has indicated that it is to be applied to the facet element, the TP takes the selected value and applies the selected tagging scenario to populate the tagging for the user in accordance with the tagging scenario. Once the tagging has been populated, the tagging program returns the tagged facet tree to the user at the user interface. Explanatory notes may be provided to the user along with the tagged tree.

摘要： Described are ways of improving the yields of specification grade polyimide foam on a consistent basis from one run to the next, by use of improved microwave-based foaming processes. In one such process, during the application of the microwave radiation, the body of polyimide precursor and of the foam structure as it is developing therefrom are maintained under a substantially vapor-impermeable mmicrowave-compatible shroud that does not substantially restrict or impede development of the foam structure; and the microwave radiation is directed upon the top, sides and ends of the body of polyimide precursor and of the foam structure as it is developing, but the extent to which such radiation impinges upwardly into the bottom of said body and said foam structure is curtailed, preferably by means of a metallic shield located below the precursor and developing foam structure. Mechanisms by which the shields and shrouds function to provide the improvements of the process are discussed, and methods based thereon are set forth.
