摘要： An ink-jet printing method for obtaining higher quality printed Images by utilizing an ink-jet recording technology using a pigment ink and a treatment liquid. A treatment liquid for unstabilizing the dispersed condition of the pigment in the aqueous medium is applied onto the printing medium, and subsequently either an ink containing a self-dispersion type pigment and a pigment dispersed by a polymeric dispersant or an ink containing a self-dispersion type pigment and an ink containing a pigment dispersed by a polymeric dispersant are applied together to the printing medium in such a way that the treatment liquid and the inks are mixed in a liquid state on the printing medium to make the pigments indissoluble.

摘要： A secondary color is used for printing an image with a printer so as to reduce the granularity of the printed image, particularly the light image area. Data of magenta and cyan color components of image data is subjected to under-removal processing to generate blue ink image data as the mentioned secondary color. A blue ink dot is printed in accordance with the blue ink data obtained by the under removal processing to replace the magenta and cyan data. As a result, it is possible to reduce the granularity that would otherwise be caused by localized distributions of magenta and cyan dots.

摘要： A method for adjusting an amount of discharge is to adjust the amount of liquid between liquid discharge units to discharge the liquid by driving a plurality of electrothermal transducing elements, which uses a plurality of liquid discharge units arranged corresponding to each liquid path for the creation of air bubbles for discharging the liquid, at the same time, being arranged to be capable of being driven individually. This method comprises the step of variably controlling the starting time of driving signal applied to each of the electrothermal transducing elements for the creation of air bubbles in each of the discharge units. The variable control thereof makes it possible to suppress the variation of discharge amount of liquid between the liquid discharge units, hence maintaining the amount of liquid discharged from each of the discharging units at a constant level to obtain printed images of higher quality.
