    • Respective sets of black keys and white keys of respective octaves of a keyboard 10 are defined as specific key range, respectively, to assign various tone colors of percussion instruments of a drum set to a plurality of keys included in the respective specific key ranges of the octaves. A specific key range has secondary key ranges to assign tone colors produced by different playing techniques of the same musical instrument. Tone colors of “hi-hat” assigned to the keyboard 10 are controlled such that a depression of any key to which “hi-hat” is assigned with or without operation of the pedal unit 20 results in generation of a musical tone of open hi-hat or closed hi-hat.

    • A percussion detecting apparatus capable of enhancing an effect of disturbance interception by intercepting a micro-vibration conveyed from a support frame. A pad member has a pad having a back-side surface to which a base is fixed, and a percussion sensor is disposed on a back-side surface of the base. The pad member is supported by a frame via fixing members integral with the pad member and intervening members made of silicon rubber. Vertical protrusions having different protrusion heights are formed on an upper surface of a flange of each intervening member, and horizontal protrusions are formed on an inner peripheral surface of a through-hole of each intervening member. When the pad member in an unstruck state, each fixing member is in contact with a corresponding one of the intervening members only at the vertical and horizontal protrusions of the intervening member.

    • Pedal device for an electronic keyboard instrument includes a pedal having opposed side walls extending downward from the opposite side edges, in a width direction, of an upper wall, and a reactive force imparting member which imparts reactive force to the pedal by being pressed by the lower surface of the pedal. The reactive force imparting member includes a plate-shaped base portion mounted on a mounting portion of a support member, and an upwardly-convexed dome-shaped body portion integrally formed with the upper surface of the base portion. The body portion and mounting portion each have a width dimension smaller than a distance between the opposed side walls of the pedal so that, during stroke action of the pedal, the body portion and mounting portion falls within a space between the opposed side walls.
