    • A photographic film cassette has photographic film wound on a spool and rotatably contained in a cassette shell. A leader of the photographic film is caused by rotation of the spool to advance outward from a passage mouth thereof. Two positioning holes are formed in an end face of the cassette shell on an advancing side as inserted into a cassette receiving chamber of a camera, and are fittable on projections of a camera when the cassette shell is loaded therein. Three projections are formed on the end face, and come into contact with an upper inside face of the chamber of the camera when the cassette is loaded in the camera, in order to position the cassette shell vertically. The chamber has an engaging pin, which is engaged with a groove in the cassette shell, to prevent the cassette from dropping out, even when a chamber door is opened downward. A DX code pattern and a use-condition signaling structure are disposed adjacently on the cassette shell, and represent respectively a sensitivity of the photographic film and a condition of use thereof, both of which are detected by a single sensor unit of the camera.

    • A lens-fitted photographic film unit is pre-loaded with an unexposed photographic film. An exposure station is adapted to exposing the film. A film supplying chamber contains a roll of the unexposed film with a first film end wound internally. A film take-up chamber is disposed opposite to the film supply chamber, and rotatably contains a spool for holding a second film end. The film as exposed is wound up in the film take-up chamber on the spool, having passed through a chamber entrance to the film take-up chamber. An outlet slot is formed behind the film take-up chamber. After completing winding-up of the film, the first film end is exited outward from the outlet slot when the spool is rotated. A tongue of a blocking member is movable so that the chamber entrance is left open when the spool rotates in the winding-up direction, and is partly closed when the spool rotates in the unwinding direction.

A method of making the same comprises the steps of attaching pods and trapping members to opposite edges on one surface of a long sheet, punching out a series of image area defining openings in the long sheet between each pair of the paired pods and trapping members, attaching a web-like photosensitive sheet to the long sheet, attaching both ends of a spacer member longer than the width of the photosensitive sheet to the one surface of the long sheet between the adjacent two image area defining openings, attaching a web-like transparent sheet onto the one surface of the long sheet, folding both sides of the long sheet so as to enclose the pods and the trapping members, respectively, and cutting the long sheet overlapping with and interposed between the photosensitive and transparent sheets along a center line of each spacer member to separate film units.

    • For a throw-away tip provided with a sensor line of a conductive film, no technique has been established for connecting the sensor line to an external detection circuit and the like without any trouble. A throw-away tip 71 generally has an inward side face 88 and a rear side face 89 which are respectively restricted by an inward restriction face 95 and a rear restriction face 94 of a holder 92 for prevention of wobble and displacement of the throw-away tip 71 when the throw-away tip 71 is mounted in the holder 92. The inward side face 88 and the rear side face 89 are brought into abutment or intimate contact with the inward restriction face 95 and the rear restriction face 94, respectively. Therefore, the side faces (restricted faces) 88, 89 of the tip are not exposed but protected by the restriction faces 95, 94 of the holder with the tip being attached to the holder. In the light of the nature of the restricted faces, contact regions 83, 84 necessary for connection of a sensor line 82 to a detection circuit 99 and the like are provided on the side faces 88, 89 which are protected by the restriction faces 95, 94 when the tip is attached to the holder. Thus, a throw-away tip can be provided which has a configuration ensuring proper electrical connection of the sensor line. (FIG. 1)
