    • A detecting means easily detects the abnormality of a generator having a plurality of power supply units. Each of the power supply units includes one of a plurality of output windings L1 to L4, which are wound independently of each other around single iron core, and one of rectifiers 2 to 5 that are provided in correspondence to the output windings and produces an integrated output. Controllers 33 to 35 control the rectifiers such that the output voltage corresponds with a target. A voltage deviation judgment section 37 outputs the abnormal signal when one of the output voltages of the rectifiers 2 to 5 is different from remains. A current deviation judgment section 39 outputs the abnormal signal when one of the output currents of the rectifiers 2 to 5 is different from remains. When the abnormal signal is detected, the outputs of the rectifiers 2 to 5 are stopped.

    • A notice board business system database stores therein collectively the contents of all the data heads relating to a series of business processes, and is held in common in the form of a notice board through clients by all the related persons in charge of the tasks. A status change rule sets the data head in which the data input should be completed with respect to each of the task processes. A status watcher refers to both the notice board business system database and the status change rule to make the task process change from the current task process to the next task process when the predetermined data input has been completed in the process in task so as to inform the related client of that the status change has occurred. In addition, the status watcher refers to a status change limit rule for setting the data input completion due date for each of the task processes so as to inform, when the processing due date is drawing near, the related client of that the processing due date is drawing near.

    • To adapt temperature control of a secondary cooling water to the temperature of a primary cooling water: A control apparatus computes duty factor D from measured open time period T.sub.ON and closed time period T.sub.OFF of a solenoid valve (step B3) for each cycle of the solenoid valve operation (step B2). The apparatus classifies the computed duty factor into one of a plurality of predetermined ranges and conditionally updates the reference temperature Pt of the secondary cooling water based on the classification (B5, B6, B7). If the reference temperature has reached an upper limit P.sub.MAX and if the duty factor has exceeded an upper limit, e.g., 95 percent (B8), the apparatus stops the operation of a laser oscillator and provides an alarm.
