摘要： A measuring device includes a first measuring hopper, a first supply portion arranged above the first measuring hopper to supply the objects to the first measuring hopper, a second measuring hopper, a second supply portion fixedly arranged above the second measuring hopper to supply the objects to the second measuring hopper, a plurality of accommodating hoppers circumferentially arranged below the first and second measuring hoppers, and a control portion configured to control the second supply portion and the plurality of accommodating hoppers such that an accommodating hopper discharges the objects only if the total weight of the objects in the accommodating hopper that are discharged from the first and second measuring hoppers is substantially and no smaller than the predetermined weight. The plurality of accommodating hoppers are intermittently circulated such that each of the accommodating hoppers successively receives the objects from the first and second measuring hoppers.

摘要： A communication system is proposed which efficiently performs an interface control of QoS of ATM and QoS of IP and improves the quality and reliability of a network. A QoS information setting part sets QoS information of IP in a packet and sets QoS information of ATM corresponding to the QoS information when an IP-based communication takes place between networks, and sets QoS information of ATM in a cell when an ATM-based communication takes place. An information sending part sends the packet of the cell. An information receiving part receives the packet or the cell. A QoS guaranteed communication part performs a communication control with QoS being guaranteed on the basis of the QoS information.

摘要： A media information distribution service system, such as a video-on-demand service system, is disclosed which, even if the capacity of a line is small and the number of lines connected to a media server, such as a video server, has to be increased accordingly, permits an uneconomical increase in the number of line circuits in the media server to be checked. In the system, a subscriber group that a distributor accommodates can be associated with a plurality of distributor-side paths on a distributor-side line. Each of the distributor-side paths is connected to a respective one of server-side paths on separate server-side lines connecting the media server and an exchange. In sending media information to a subscriber group, an in-server path control unit installed in the media server is permitted to select a free one out of server-side paths on server-side lines allocated for that subscriber group and activates a line interface corresponding to the free server-side path.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal layer having super twisted nematic liquid crystal with a twist angle of 260.degree., the liquid crystal layer being sandwiched between a first substrate and a second substrate. A color filter is formed on the second substrate. The first substrate is orientation-processed so that pretilt angles of the liquid crystal to the first substrate are 5.5.degree.. The second substrate is orientation-processed so that pretilt angles of the liquid crystal to the second substrate are 3.0.degree.. Therefore, it is possible to easily reduce occurrence rate of inadequate display and, at the same time, to maintain beneficial characteristics of a liquid crystal display device with a twist angle of 250.degree. or more, i.e., a good temperature characteristic, a small contrast change against a temperature change, and good quality display.
