    • The assembly performs the method of handling packages having a panel extending outwardly from one side of the package and along one edge thereof. A plurality of such contiguously nested packages is provided with the extending panel of each package disposed in the same direction and overlapping the side of the next adjacent juxtaposed package. The end package of the plurality of nested packages has its extending panel directed outwardly from the plurality and is rotated to cause the extending panel thereof to be placed in an overlapping relationship with respect to the next adjacent juxtaposed package. The plurality of packages being fed to the work station of the end package rotation process is acted upon in a particular manner to cause them to shift with respect to each other to produce a substantially uniform overlapping disposition of the outwardly extending panels with respect to the side of the next adjacent juxtaposed panel. At the end package rotation work station, a selected number of nested packages is acted upon to separate the end package to a position away from the other packages selected, to rotate and then to bring back into a contiguous relationship so that a bundle of packages is formed without an end panel extending outwardly from that bundle. The bundled packages are then directed into a standard wrapping machine for overwrapping the bundle in a manner precisely the same as if there were no fifth panel extended outwardly from the packages being wrapped.

    • A system and method for synchronization of workflows in a video file workflow system. A workflow is created that splits execution of the workflow tasks (in a single, video file workflow) across multiple Content Management Systems (CMSs). When a single workflow is split across two CMSs, which jointly perform the overall workflow, the two resulting workflows are created to essentially mirror each other so that each CMS can track the tasks being executed on the other CMS using synchronization messages. Hence, both CMSs have the same representation of the processing status of the video content at all time. This allows for dual tracking of the workflow process and for independent operations, at different CMSs, when the CMS systems require load balancing. The split-processing based synchronization can be implemented in the workflows themselves or with simple modifications to workflow templates, without requiring any modification of the software of the workflow systems.

    • Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for facilitating sharing and accessing social networking information between two users. A user can establish a profile for sharing with others, which contains pre-authorization to access and share certain social network information. The profile can be linked by a machine-readable code, such as a QR code, that encodes a network address, such as a URL, to the profile containing access to the pre-authorized social networking information. The user shares information quickly with another user by sharing the QR code. Another user scans the QR code with a smartphone or other camera enabled device, which navigates to the profile. After the other user logs into social networks on the device, the profile scans and/or compares both users' social networking profiles for commonalities, such as shared interests and connections. Then, the users can quickly determine common connections almost immediately.

    • A data transport container is used to transport information from a content provider network node to an advertisement insertion network node. The data transport container encloses a media program, program metadata, advertisement metadata, and advertisement selection code. The advertisement insertion network node selects among a plurality of advertisements, which may also be received through the data transport container, in response to at least the advertisement selection code and the advertisement metadata. The selected advertisements are combined with the media program in response to the program metadata to generate a combined media program. The combined media program is communicated to a subscriber equipment unit. The data transport container may contain Material eXchange Format (MXF) encoded content. Accordingly, the advertisement insertion network node may be configured to decode MXF encoded content of the data transport container to extract the media program, the program metadata, the advertisement metadata, and the advertisement selection code into separate files.
