    • A positioning and clamping apparatus clamps a panel material by moving a clamp arm to a clamping position while the panel material positioned by a locating pin is supported by a workpiece supporting face of a workpiece support. An extruding member having a plurality of extruding rods protruding from the workpiece supporting face is slidably provided in the workpiece support, and the panel material is detached from the locating pin since the extruding member causes a tip face of the extruding rods to be moved to a carry-out position by the hollow piston. The extruding member is caused to protrude by a spring force up to a standby position located between the carrying-out position and the workpiece supporting position, thereby being pushed down up to the workpiece supporting position by the panel material.

    • When data written into a volume (source volume) in a parity group in a storage apparatus is written into a volume (destination volume) in a parity group in a storage apparatus using a remote copy function, it is determined during the copy whether or not one or both of the following two specified conditions are satisfied for this set of volumes: (1) the performance of the destination volume after a failover is equal to or higher than the performance of the source volume before the failover; and (2) the performance of the destination volume is equal to or higher than the performance of the source volume during the copy. If the condition(s) is not satisfied, the storage apparatus in which the destination volume is defined is changed in configuration to satisfy the condition.

    • A volume management method is proposed for setting at least a logical volume over a plurality of physical storage devices by taking requested performance of other volumes into consideration. The volume management method comprises the steps of: receiving a volume creation request specifying a requested storage capacity and requested average performance; forming a judgment as to whether or not there exists an unoccupied area satisfying the requested storage capacity throughout the storage devices; forming a judgment as to whether or not all volumes, which include existing volumes each sharing any of the storage devices with a volume to be created and the volume to be created, each satisfy its requested average performance by referring to information of requested average performance on a storage means for each of the existing volumes if the unoccupied area satisfying a requested storage capacity is determined to exist; and setting the volume to be created if all the volumes each satisfy the requested average performance.

    • The present invention relates to a zoom lens position control device. An encoding pattern, which shows a shift between a focal length changing region and a focal point adjusting region by turns, is provided for a rotary frame in which a lens group of a step zoom lens capable of setting a plurality of focal lengths is arranged. Electrical conduction/non-conduction based on the pattern is detected as an ON/OFF state. The present position of the zoom lens is determined on the basis of the ON/OFF state. When the zoom lens is shifted from the stopping position due to the application of an external force, the stopping position of the zoom lens is initialized. The operation of the zoom lens is subsequently shifted to exposure in a focal length position, where the zoom lens is originally stopped, without unnecessarily increasing release time lag.
