    • A magnetic recording disk having a non laser zone texturing (LZT) band in the contact-start-stop (CSS) zone. The width of the non-LZT band in the CSS zone may be greater than the width of a read and/or write element of a head and less than the width of a center pad on the head in order to prevent contact between the read and/or write element and the CSS zone's textured surface. The width of the non-LZT band may also be designed to account for head skew angle and positioning error due to movement of a suspension arm supporting the head.

    • A disk-storing disk device is disclosed. The disk-storing disk device includes multiple supporting members for supporting disks and being stacked in the axial direction; a supporting member selecting mechanism for moving a supporting member to a selecting position; a driving unit having a rotational driving unit for clamping and rotating a disk held by the supporting member at the selecting position; a transporting mechanism for transporting a disk inserted from an insertion opening of the casing to the selected supporting member at the selecting position; and a restriction guide member having a restriction face and being turnably supported between a guiding attitude and a non-acting attitude; wherein, when a disk is transported toward a supporting member at the selecting position by the transporting mechanism, the restriction guide member turns to the guide attitude, and when the supporting member is moved by the supporting member selecting mechanism, the restriction guide member turns to the non-acting attitude.

    • In a disk-storing disk device according to the present invention, within a casing having an insertion opening formed on the front face for inserting a disk, a plurality of holders are arranged in piles disproportionately on the X1 side about an insertion center line while a drive unit is rotatably supported on the X2 side from the insertion center line. When any of the holders is selected and a disk is inserted through the insertion opening, the disk is clamped to transfer rollers. A transporting unit is counterclockwise rotated while the disk is transferred with the transfer rollers. By the rotation, the disk is securely conveyed to the holder arranged disproportionately on the X1 side. Thereby, efficiency of arranging respective units in the casing is improved so as to provide a disk-storing disk device with short depth size.

    • In a real-time distributed control system in which a plurality of network controllers are connected, a middleware module in each control unit executes starting of application modules and calling RT communication processing according to starting order information in application configuration information. RT communication service sends and receives messages between the application modules corresponding to the calling. The application configuration information and the messages are generated by an information processor based on user defined information, and transmitted to each of the units. A network driver executes network communication using a network controller which stores sending and receiving messages. A network driver priority manager determines priority of processing of the network driver corresponding to priorities of sent and received messages, and a scheduler executes processing of the network driver according to the priority of the processing of the network driver.
