摘要： A reproducing apparatus comprises an error correcting means which includes first and second input circuits for inputting first and second coded data read out via different series separately, first and second frequency converters for converting the respective timing frequencies of the first and second coded data to higher frequencies, a multiplexer for generating third coded data by time-division multiplexing the first and second coded data of the higher timing frequencies, and an error corrector for executing an error correction of the third coded data. The apparatus further comprises a decode means for decoding the third coded data processed through error detection and correction, and a data output means for outputting the decoded data. The first and second coded data of different series can be inputted in parallel simultaneously due to the first and second input circuits, and such coded data of the higher timing frequencies are time-division multiplexed into third coded data of a single series, so that a process of error correction can be executed in a simplified configuration with a reduction of the power consumption.

摘要： The present invention is to provide a digital video-audio signal recording and reproducing apparatus that allows the number of channels of audio data and the data width per sample to be changed corresponding to user's settings. 24-bit/sample audio data that is input as serial data to Ch 1 of the digital video-audio signal recording and reproducing apparatus is separated into high order 16 bits and low order eight bits. The high order 16 bits are recorded in a region of Ch 1 of a record medium. The low order eight bits are stored to a region of low order eight bits of Ch 3 paired with Ch 1 of the record medium. Mode information that represents that 24-bit data is separated into paired channels is added to record data each edit unit of video data. When dat is reproduced, data of paired channels is combined corresponding to the mode information so as to restore 24-bit data. Since the 24-bit data is treated as 16-bit data, the record format of 16-bit data can be used for the 24-bit data.

摘要： A digital video signal of one frame is recorded as diagonal tracks on a magnetic tape by four recording heads. One frame is recorded as six segments (twelve tracks). Adjacent tracks is reverse azimuths. In each track of even segments, an auxiliary data sync block is recorded at the last position of a video sector v1. In each track of odd segments, an auxiliary data sync block is recorded at the beginning position of a video sector v1. Since an auxiliary data sync block is recorded at spaced positions on a tape, it can be prevented that an auxiliary data cannot be read at all on a tape scrached in the longitudinal direction.
