    • A money handling machine (10) includes: a money storage unit (40) configured for storing therein money; and money recycling mechanisms (20, 30), each adapted for temporarily storing the money taken from the exterior to the interior of a casing (11), in each of recycling money storage units (27, 34). Each of the money recycling mechanisms (20, 30) is arranged to be controlled under a first control authority, while the money storage unit (40) is arranged to be controlled under a second control authority. When a control unit (15) receives a delivery command, the control unit (15) performs a delivery process for feeding the money stored in each of the recycling money storage units (27, 34) to the money storage unit (40). Meanwhile, when receiving a closing command, the control unit (15) performs a closing process for calculating the amount of money regarding the closing process, which is the amount of money or quantity of money for each denomination thereof, in regard to the money having been subjected to the delivery process in a predetermined period of time. Further, when receiving a delivery-with-closing command, the control unit (15) performs a delivery-with-closing process, so as to first perform the delivery process, and then automatically perform the closing process, in succession to the end of the delivery process.

    • An image forming apparatus includes first and second toner image forming sections and a transfer unit. The first and second toner image forming sections include first and second image carriers and first and second intermediate transfer members, respectively. The color toner images are formed on the image carrier and then transferred onto the intermediate transfer member to form a composite color toner image on the intermediate transfer member. In a first mode, the first and second toner image forming sections form both the composite dark and light color toner images on the recording material. In a second mode, the second intermediate transfer member is moved out of contact with the transfer unit and the second image carrier and the second intermediate transfer member are not operated, so that only the first toner image forming section forms the composite dark color toner image on the recording material.

    • A cylindrical electric double-layer capacitor includes a cylindrical sealed vessel housing an electrode roll and an electrolyte solution. The electrode roll is formed of a rolled superposed assembly having band-shaped positive and negative poles and two band-shaped separators sandwiching one of the band-shaped positive and negative poles. Each of the band-shaped positive and negative poles includes a band-shaped collector and a pair of polarizing electrodes formed in a laminated manner on opposite surfaces of the band-shaped collector. In a state in which the electrode roll has been accommodated in the sealed vessel along with the electrolyte solution, an outer diameter D1 of the electrode roll and an inner diameter D2 of the sealed vessel are brought into a relationship of D1=D2 by at least one of swelling of the polarizing electrodes caused by the electrolyte solution and expansion of the polarizing electrodes caused by an electrical charge. Thus, in the cylindrical electric double-layer capacitor, it is possible to avoid an increase in internal resistance, a reduction in a self-discharging characteristic and other like electrical characteristics.

    • The present invention provides a space-saving and compact high-operability image forming apparatus. The apparatus includes an original reading unit, a sheet supporting unit, an image forming unit and a sheet discharging unit. The original reading unit is adapted to hold an original placed on an original mount by a cover member, for reading an original image. The sheet supporting unit is placed under the original image reading unit, and supports a sheet on which an image is formed. The image forming unit is placed at the rear of the housing containing the original reading unit and the sheet supporting unit and is used to form an image on a sheet held by the sheet supporting unit. The sheet discharging unit discharges a sheet, on which an image has been formed by the image forming unit, towards and above the original reading unit.
