摘要： A variable valve system varies an operation condition of an engine valve by controlling an angular position of a control shaft in accordance with an operation condition of the engine. The system has an actuating mechanism for actuating the control shaft. The actuating mechanism comprises a threaded shaft that is rotated about its axis in accordance with the operation condition of the engine; a nut member operatively engaged with the threaded shaft, so that upon rotation of the threaded shaft the nut member runs axially along the threaded shaft; a link mechanism provided between the control shaft and the nut member, so that the axial movement of the nut member along the threaded shaft induces a rotational motion of the control shaft; and a biasing mechanism that biases the nut member relative to the threaded shaft at least at a predetermined range of the operation condition of the engine valve.

摘要： A valve operating device for an internal combustion engine enabling both valve timing and valve lift characteristic to be varied depending on engine operating conditions includes intake and exhaust camshafts, an eccentric cam fixed to a first one of the intake and exhaust camshafts so that an axis of the eccentric cam is eccentric to an axis of the first camshaft. A rockable cam is supported on the first camshaft so that the rockable cam rotates or oscillates about the axis of the first camshaft. A rocker arm is oscillatingly supported on an outer periphery of the eccentric cam so that a center of an oscillating motion of the rocker arm revolves around the axis of the first camshaft. Also provided is a control shaft variably controlling the center of the oscillating motion of the rocker arm.

摘要： A variable valve actuation apparatus incorporates a mechanism, mounted to a control shaft, to convert rotational motion of a camshaft into pivotal motion of a valve operating cam. The mechanism has different states corresponding to varying angular positions which the control shaft is adjustable to, respectively, The mechanism is continuously variable in state to one of the different states in response to a shift of the control shaft to one of the varying angular positions. The mechanism is also operative to vary the valve operating cam, in position, relative to the associated cylinder valve in response to a shift between the different states.

摘要： An upper surface of a head part of a valve lifter has a predetermined turn back portion at which, with a valuable valve control device kept controlled to induce a maximum lift of an engine valve, a swing stroke of a rounded cam surface of a swing cam relative to the upper surface of the head part changes a traveling direction from a radially outward direction for opening the engine valve to a radially inward direction for closing the engine valve. An inlet end part of an oil hole formed in the head part is placed at a radially inside position of the upper surface other than a position where side edges of the rounded cam surface of the swing cam are in contact with the inlet end part of the oil hole when the rounded cam surface is placed in the vicinity of the turn back portion.

摘要： A variable valve actuation (VVA) apparatus comprises an eccentric rotary (ER) cam fixed to a driving shaft for rotation therewith, a pivotal valve operating (VO) cam, a rocker arm having a first arm and a second arm, a control rod having an eccentric control cam, and a crank arm. The eccentric control cam supports the rocker arm for pivotal motion. The crank arm interconnects the ER cam and the first arm of the rocker arm. A link interconnects the second arm of the rocker arm and the VO cam.
