    • A wireless communication apparatus capable of effectively controlling retransmission. In this wireless communication apparatus (100), a frame aggregation part (111) aggregates basic unit data units (e.g., MPDUs) and adds a header thereto to form an aggregated frame. In response to a retransmission request from a receiving station (wireless communication apparatus (200)) as to the aggregated frame, a frame dividing part (112) divides the data part of the aggregated frame into segmented data blocks to form segmented frames. A frame control part (170) classifies the segmented frames into some groups in accordance with the reception qualities, at the receiving station, of the segmented data blocks of the aggregated frame. A transmission control part (185) transmits only the segmented frames of a group the reception quality of which is below a predetermined level. In this way, the transmission efficiency can be improved as compared with the retransmission of the aggregated frame, whereby the system throughput can be improved and hence an effective retransmission control can be achieved.
