    • A cover for a valve (10) has a housing (20) mounting internally a component (24), with a collet (28) being located with play through an open end of the component (24). Resiliently deformable jaws (36) of the collet (28) co-operate with a profiled inner wall of the component (24) for opening and closing of the jaws (36) upon axial movement of the collet (28) relative to the component (24). When positioned on a stem (12, 14) of the valve (10), the cover is movable downwardly thereon to operate the valve and is freely rotatable, but on movement upwardly the cover is clamped by closing of the jaws (36) on the stem (12, 14). The housing (20) is formed of a material with a high degree of resistance to vandalism.

    • Self-heating containers comprise a reaction chamber and a heating chamber. The heating chamber is sized to contain a substance to be heated. The reaction chamber contains reactants which, when contacted, exothermically react. The reaction chamber is divided into a first compartment and a second compartment with a barrier therebetween. The barrier comprises a first barrier portion and a second barrier portion. The first barrier portion is attached to a reaction chamber wall and has an opening sized to allow reactants to flow through from one compartment to the other. The second barrier portion is attached to the first barrier portion to close the opening. The barrier can be opened by moving an actuator into engagement with the second barrier portion to dislodge the second barrier portion from the first barrier portion and thereby open the barrier. In certain embodiments, the heating chamber can be a can with prepackaged comestible substance therein. Examples of components configured to facilitate such a can are disclosed.

    • The invention provides compounds of the formula: wherein R1 is aryl, heteroaryl, cycloalkyl or alkyl; R2 is H, alkyl, nitro, CO2R7, CONR5R6 or halo; R3 and R4 are H, NR5R6, NC(O)R7, halo, trifluromethyl, alkyl, CONR5R6, CO2R7, nitrile or alkoxy; R5 and R6 may be the same or different and may be H, alkyl, aryl, heteroaryl or cycloalkyl; or R5 and R6 may together form a saturated, unsaturated or partially saturated 4 to 7 member ring, wherein said ring may optionally comprise one or more further heteroatoms selected from N, O or S; R7 is H or alkyl; A is H, halo, or a group of formula X-L-Y; X is O, S or NR8; R8 is H or alkyl; L is (CH2)n, where n is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4; and Y is aryl, a heterocyclic group, alkyl, alkenyl or cycloalkyl; the products of mono- and di-oxidation of sulphur and/or mono-oxidation of nitrogen moieties in compounds of formula I; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. These compounds find use as inhibitors of potassium ion channels and thus are useful in the treatment of various conditions including arrhythmia and type-2 diabetes mellitus.
