The hard-disk mobile communication terminal includes an impact detecting unit for outputting a HDD operation enable/disable signal that is the basis of decision of whether to operate the HDD according to the level of the impact exerted on the hard-disk mobile communication terminal, and a HDD operation control unit for deciding whether to operate the HDD according to the HDD operation enable/disable signal if access of the HDD is requested.

摘要： An apparatus and method for receiving digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) signals in a wireless terminal. A first antenna receives a satellite DMB signal and a first terrestrial DMB signal. A second antenna receives a second terrestrial DMB signal. A satellite DMB receiver receives the satellite DMB signal through the first antenna. A terrestrial DMB receiver receives the first and second terrestrial DMB signals through the first and second antennas. A switch switches the satellite DMB signal and the first terrestrial DMB signal received by the first antenna to the satellite DMB receiver or the terrestrial DMB receiver. The apparatus can receive DMB as well as communicate using the wireless terminal, thereby improving convenience for users.

摘要： An apparatus for driving a touchpad of a portable terminal including a second control unit controlling the touchpad in an active mode is provided. The apparatus includes a sensor unit for generating interrupt signals when pressure on the touchpad is sensed, a first control unit for outputting activating signals to activate the second control unit when the interrupt signals are input and a switching unit for transmitting the interrupt signals generated from the sensor unit to the first control unit when the second control unit is in an inactive mode. Accordingly, even though the multimedia processor embedded in the portable terminal is in an inactive mode, the multimedia processor is activated when a user presses the touchpad, thereby making it possible to process signals input by touching the touchpad, particularly, to keep the user interface. Furthermore, the multimedia processor embedded in the portable terminal can reduce the consumption of battery power required to maintain the user interface, as compared with multimedia processors maintaining operating in a conventional polling method.

摘要： An apparatus and method for controlling an operation of a portable terminal having a multimedia function are provided. The apparatus includes a multimedia processor for performing the multimedia function when a controller is in a sleep mode wherein the controller is converted to an active mode when a specified key signal is input into the controller in the sleep mode and outputs an inactive signal to inactivate the multimedia processor. According to the present invention, the portable terminal having the controller controlling the mobile communication function and the multimedia processor controlling the multimedia function, can independently perform the mobile communication function and the multimedia function according to the specified key input. Furthermore, according to the present invention, the controller which controls the mobile communication function need not control the multimedia processor which controls the multimedia function. Hence, it is possible to reduce power consumption and software errors occurring when the controller controls the multimedia processor.

The key control apparatus includes a first key input unit, a second key input unit and a control unit. 摘要： There is provided a link connection method between communication terminals equipped with Bluetooth wireless devices. To automatically connect a link with a communication terminal equipped with a Bluetooth wireless device acting as a slave by Bluetooth wireless communication, a communication terminal equipped with a Bluetooth wireless device acting as a master transmits a link connection request message to the slave upon request of a link connection with the slave. Then, the master determines whether the link is connected and if the link is not connected, transmits the link connection request message as many times as a predetermined number of automatic link connection attempts until the link is connected.
