    • A centrifugal force speed governor for fuel injected internal combustion engines having at least a negative adjustment capability. In such a centrifugal force speed governor the following structural components are included: speed responsive structure; at least one adaptation spring; an adjustment member; an intermediate lever; a yield support; a control element; a stop; an energy storing structure; and a setting lever having a pin mounted thereto. The adjustment member is coupled to the speed responsive structure, the adaptation spring, the control element and through the control element to the yield support, while the setting lever engages, with its pin, the intermediate lever, the control element and the energy storing structure. When the adjustment member is displaced by the speed responsive structure and under the regulation of the adaptation spring, a displacement of the intermediate lever via the control element and the setting lever pin occurs. This displacement of the intermediate lever is transferred to a fuel supply rate adjustment member of a fuel injection pump to which the intermediate lever is coupled, producing a negative adjustment of the fuel supply rate adjustment member, i.e., an adjustment which is in the direction of increasing fuel supply as the angular speed of the governor increases.

    • An apparatus for setting the angular relationship between rotating driving, and driven members in the injection pump drive of an internal combustion engine. The driving member and the driven member have a toothed portion of which at least one is a helical toothed portion, whereby the toothed portions are coupled to each other by a coupler member having toothed portions which mesh with the toothed portions of the driving and driven members. At least one of the toothed portions of the coupler member is configured as a helical portion and is hydraulically displaceable with respect to the other toothed portions. This hydraulic displacement is controlled by a centrifugal governor having flyweights. The flyweights displace a valve member against the force of at least one spring in an rpm-dependent manner to effect the rpm-dependent adjustment of the instant of injection. In addition to the rpm-dependent displacement, a load-dependant displaceability, can be superimposed. As a result, the instant of injection can be influenced in accordance with load, in order thus to attain an improved combustion efficiency.

    • An rpm governor for fuel injection engines whose function is to raise the idle rpm for a predetermined time period while the engine is cold in order to guarantee a clean idle running cycle of the engine. The rpm governor includes a compensating device having a thermostat which is designed to engage an idling spring and whose duration of engagement is determined by a heating device located on the thermostat. When the engine is cold, the tension in the spring is raised by the compensating device, thus effecting a higher rpm level, which rpm level is later reduced to normal idle when the governor has reached an operational temperature upon the passage of a predetermined period after cold starting.

    • There is proposed an improved fuel injection pump which will prevent erosion at the pump housing caused by the fuel stream leaving the return flow openings at the end of injection, by providing an impact protection ring on the cylinder bushing. Guide faces on the ring inclined toward the center (M) thereof are molded into the impact protection ring in the vicinity of a cylindrical wall portion. The impact protection ring rests on an abutment shoulder disposed above the return flow openings, in the vicinity of the return flow openings encloses an annular chamber, and is pressed by a snap ring without play and with a defined prestressing force against the abutment shoulder. As a result of the guiding action of the guide faces on the impact protection ring, a rotational movement of the impact protection ring triggered by the obliquely exiting fuel stream is assured, in order to attain a long service life for the pump.

    • A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines having in-line cylinder bushes, in each of which a pump piston defining a pump work chamber is guided, the piston being rotatable by a governor rod for the sake of fuel supply quantity regulation. Mounted on the pump housing is an adjusting device, in which an adjusting piston is guided axially parallel with the governor rod; the adjusting piston has a radial pin, which protrudes through a slit in the wall of the adjusting device and pump housing into an oblong slot of the governor rod, thus limiting the adjusting motion of the rod in certain operating ranges. The position of the adjusting piston determines the maximum governing travel of the governor rod in the full-load direction upon engine starting. The adjusting piston is variable via an adjustable stop acting upon one face end thereof and is also variable as a function of temperature via a temperature-dependent spring element disposed on its circumference. In addition, with its face end, the adjusting piston defines a pressure chamber, by way of which the adjusting piston can be adjusted pneumatically in the direction of a zero supply quantity; via two stops of the oblong slot, the adjusting piston moves the control rod with it in the process and in this way interrupts the fuel delivery.
