    • Color is added to the standard video display (18) of a computer numerical control system for controlling the operation of a machine tool (10) in the performance of specified operations with respect to a workpiece. Color assignment records (62) are included in the machine setup data (MSD) source file (54) for implementing background color, reverse video color, forms character color, data character color, errors and/or alarm color, operator required response color, and high-lite color. The MSD source file (54) is processed to generate a binary MSD file (56) which is then read into the numerical control basic (NC) software (24) which operates to generate both text and graphic displays. The original or default color assignments may be dynamically modified or changed through an MSD file editor (58). Additionally, the background color and data character color are programmed to change to other colors to bring the operator's attention to an error or alarm condition through the machine control logic (MCL) (28) which generates calls through a software interface (26) to the NC software (24).

    • A portable, knock-down massage chair includes a generally rectangular case having opposed side walls, each provided with an arcuate cutout extending therein from the upper edge thereof. A lid is hinged to a first end wall of the case and openable to gain access to the interior of the case. Stored within the case are a seat member, a leg rest, an arm rest, a chest support, a face cradle, and a brace assembly. The brace assembly comprises a hinged, two-panel assembly stored adjacent to the bottom of the case, and pivotable therefrom out of the top opening to be joined to the lid to form a rigid triangular support assembly. The chest support and the face cradle are slidably supported on the upper panel of the two-panel assembly, and the seat member is secured atop the side walls adjacent to the second end wall of the case. The leg rest is adapted to be secured within the arcuate cutouts of the side walls in a variable angle fashion, and the arm rest is joined to the lid panel. A person receiving a massage is supported on the seat facing the brace assembly, leaning forward with the chest supported by the chest support, the face on the face cradle, the lower legs on the leg rest, and the arms on the arm rest, so that the back, shoulders, neck, hips and arms are well-presented for massage. A stabilizing member is pivotally joined to the bottom of the case to provide lateral stability to the chair in the erected configuration.

    • A calibrator especially suitable for calibrating electromagnetic flow velocity sensors under field conditions requires no source of water and no source of electrical power. The calibrator includes a pickup coil that intercepts all or a known fraction of the flux generated by the sensor and generates a voltage in response to the flux. The voltage is applied to the electrodes of the sensor thereby simulating a flow velocity. The gain of the sensor is adjusted so that the simulated flow velocity equals a pre-determined reading. The pickup coil may include a number of taps that may selectively be connected to an electrode of the sensor to simulate flow velocities of various magnitudes, thereby permitting the linearity of the sensor to be checked. The calibrator also includes a direct conductive path that may selectively be connected between the electrodes of the sensor to simulate the zero flow velocity condition, thereby permitting the zero offset of the sensor to be checked.
