    • To solve the problem inhibiting the copyright protection caused by reason that there are no means for restricting the number of backups to other media, which makes it impossible for a copyright owner to specify the allowable number of backups for the content of “Copy One Generation”, disclosed herein is a digital information recording and reproducing method. The method is so configured that: a first piece of digital information and copy control information of the first piece of digital information is received, wherein the copy control information is for controlling the recording of the first piece of digital information on a recording medium; and when the received copy control information is Copy One Generation indicating that only one generation copy of digital information is allowed, a plurality of the first pieces of digital information are recorded on a first recording medium as the first piece of digital information and a second piece of digital information, wherein the first piece of digital information is different in format or in bit rate from the second piece of digital information.

    • A digital signal recording apparatus is disclosed, which is capable of protecting the copyright of the analog input information encoded into a first digital signal in a recording medium. A second digital signal encrypted based on the key information and the input analog signal encrypted based on the key information are converted into a second digital signal and encrypted, and the resulting signal is selectively recorded in a recording medium. The digital signal recording apparatus further comprises a circuit for encrypting the digital signal converted from the input analog signal with a key obtained by a predetermined calculation of the key information according to a scheme similar to the second digital signal protection scheme through a digital interface, and a signal recording circuit for recording the key information and the encrypted digital signal in a recording medium.

    • A video transmission device comprising: a reference signal generation unit which generates a reference signal based on time information; an imaging unit which images a video signal based on the reference signal generated by means of the reference signal generation unit; a compression unit which performs digital compression encoding of the video signal imaged by means of the imaging unit; a network processing unit which receives, from a network, time information and phase information about a reference signal in regard to the time information and, also, transmits the digital compression encoded video signal; and a control unit which controls the reference signal generation unit and the network processing unit.
