摘要： A tissue retractor includes a body having proximal and distal ends. The retractor also includes a retraction device having a head connected to the distal end of the body and defining two opposing openings, a connector movably disposed in the body, and two flexible needles of a shape memory material having a memory shape. The needles are fixedly connected to the connector for traveling through a respective one of the openings. The memory shape of the needles includes a portion with an arcuate shape. A one-handed actuation device is connected to the proximal end of the body and is operatively connected to the connector through the body. Upon actuation of the actuation device, the connector can be moved to selectively extend the needles out of the head and withdraw the needles into the head. Methods for using the tissue retractor, in particular for the treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, are also provided.

摘要： An airbag inflator that includes a pyrotechnic material capable of producing a quantity of gas during deployment. The inflator also includes a filter. The filter may be an expanded metal filter that is wrapped about the pyrotechnic material. When this filter is wrapped about the pyrotechnic material, the filter forms a plurality of layers having holes that are a different size. This filter also includes a first set of barriers and a second set of barriers that are positioned exterior of the first set of barriers, the second set of barriers being offset from the first set of barriers. Gas passing through the filter will encounter the first set of barriers, be re-directed, encounter the second set of barriers, be re-directed, and then flow out of the filter.

The server in response to a user request executes an application program for generating content for rendering on the wireless device where the content is wireless device generic. A first screen description based on the content and a device profile of the wireless device is generated. The device profile may describe a rendering capability of the wireless device. The first screen may be in a syntax generic format independent of the wireless device type and describe relative screen location and display object size information independent of screen dimensions. The first screen is translated into a second screen description that includes discrete low level rendering commands within the rendering capability of the wireless device that is syntax generic. Low level rendering commands include physical screen positions of display elements. The translated second screen is then transmitted to the wireless device.

The methods comprise applying a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen to a catalyst formulation under reaction conditions, wherein the catalyst formulation is a solid which may comprise: an active metal, a mixed metal component comprising one or more of a metal A, a metal B, a metal C, and a promoter. In certain embodiments one or more of the metals and the promoter may be present as compounds. In a first embodiment the catalyst comprises a noble metal and an alkali metal promoter, mixed oxides of cerium, zirconium and molybdenum, and an alkali metal promoter. Carbon monoxide and hydrogen may be reacted in the presence of the catalysts disclosed to produce mixtures enriched in lower aliphatic alcohols and particularly ethanol. Various catalyst preparation methods are disclosed including autoignition and gel-sol methods.

A vacuum-activated device transitions the hollow body between a relatively flexible condition and a relatively stiff condition. A torque braid transmits torque from the proximal end toward the distal end. A method for transmitting torque and variably flexing the insertion device includes transmitting torque along the hollow body with the torque braid, applying suction to create a vacuum in the hollow body for placing the hollow body in the relatively stiff condition, and relieving the vacuum for placing the hollow body in the relatively flexible condition.

The clip applier has an overall diameter of less than 7 mm. The clip applier jaws are coupled to a pull wire via a linkage which increases the mechanical advantage and thus permits greater grasping force. A plurality of clip designs are also provided.
