摘要： An electron emission device effectively blocks an electric field generated by an anode, consistently and stably emits electrons at a low gate voltage, and provides a high luminous uniformity and luminous efficiency. In addition, a flat display apparatus using the electron emission device as a backlight unit (BLU) and a method of driving the light emission device are provided. The electron emission device includes: a base substrate; a first electrode including a first main electrode portion arranged on a surface of the base substrate and extending in a predetermined direction and a first auxiliary electrode extending from the first main electrode portion; a second electrode including a second main electrode portion arranged on the surface of the base substrate and separated from the first electrode and extending in a predetermined direction and a second auxiliary electrode extending from the second main electrode portion; and an electron emission source arranged on at least one of the first and second electrodes.

摘要： A liquid crystal display (LCD) having color filters configured according to optical characteristics of a field emission backlight. The LCD includes: a display panel having color filters including red, green, and blue filters; and a backlight device at a rear side of the display panel and including a vacuum panel with a cold cathode electron source and a phosphor layer that is excited by electrons emitted from the cold cathode electron source to emit visible light. Here, a wavelength position corresponding to a half of a peak intensity of a transmission spectrum of the red filter is at from about 570 nm to about 622 nm, a wavelength position corresponding to a half of a peak intensity of a transmission spectrum of the blue filter is not greater than 520 nm, and/or a transmission spectrum of the green filter has a full width at half maximum (FWHM) ranging from about 60 nm to about 115 nm.

摘要： A phosphor for a plasma display panel (PDP) has a decay time of about 1 ms or less when a Xe concentration is about 10 wt % to about 30 wt % based on the total weight of a discharge gas. A phosphor composition includes the same and a PDP includes a phosphor layer comprising the phosphor or the phosphor composition. When the phosphor or the phosphor composition are used, a low gray scale and low discharge problem due to a green phosphor of a PDP may be solved, a permanent afterimage due to a green phosphor is reduced, and a color reproduction range is significantly broadened compared to a conventional green phosphor of a PDP. In addition, the circuit of the PDP is simplified since colors are not individually subjected to gamma correction but are corrected using a single white gamma. Furthermore, the contrast in a light room is also improved due to the use of phosphor powders with color.

An electron emission device having the transparent light-emitting conductive layer includes: a front substrate; a first electrode arranged on the front surface, the first electrode having a transparent light-emitting conductive layer including a Transparent Conductive Oxide (TCO) and a dopant; a fluorescent layer arranged on the first electrode; a rear substrate spaced apart from and facing the front substrate; an electron emission region arranged on the rear substrate; and a second electrode adapted to control electron emission in the electron emission region. The electron emission device can be used as an electron emission display device or a back-light unit. The transparent light-emitting conductive layer induces additional light emission using excess electrons that did not participate in the light emission in a fluorescent layer and thus results in improvements in color purity, reproduction range of colors, brightness, and color rendering properties when used in a device.
