摘要： A rigid type wrapper (1) with a hinged lid (13) is fashioned from a flat diecut blank (42) presenting a treated face and an untreated face and comprising a main portion (45) destined to form the container (11) and the lid (13) of the wrapper (1), also an appendage (50), destined to provide a stiffening frame (23), appearing as a first portion (51) and two connecting arms (52) terminating at the opposite ends in first and second precreased fold lines (53, 54) along which the arms (52) are hinged respectively to the main portion (45) and to the first portion (51) of the blank. The frame (23) is erected by rotating the arms (52) about the respective first precreased fold line (53) to the point at which they are bent double over the main portion (45), and simultaneously rotating the first portion (51) of the appendage (50) about the respective second precreased fold lines (54) to the point at which the treated face of the first portion (51) is bent double over the untreated face of the main portion (45), so that when the wrapper (1) is fully assembled, the frame (23) will be positioned with the treated surface facing outwards.

摘要： Packets of cigarettes are directly singly and in succession along a conveyor into a cellophane wrapping machine, and thereafter to a packaging machine which is driven, together with the wrapping machine, by one main motor and incorporates a feed unit supplying wrapper blanks, and a wrapping unit by which each blank is folded about a corresponding group of packets. In the event of an interruption in the supply of packets to the conveyor, the feed unit is decoupled automatically from the main motor and the wrapping unit then allowed to complete a further cycle in which a blank already gummed and positioned by the feed unit can be fashioned as usual into an outer wrapper around a relative group of packets before the main motor is finally shut off.

摘要： Transparent outer wrappers for cigarette packets are prepared by advancing a continuous strip of overwrap material along a given feed path in a given direction, piercing a predetermined area of the strip with a series of slits spaced apart one from another and extending nominally transverse to the feed direction, and bonding a narrow ribbon to the strip along the predetermined area, aligned on at least one portion of the slits; the strip then passes under a blade shaped so as to cut a series of “U” notches spaced apart one from the next, each creating a pull tab at the end of the ribbon, before being divided ultimately into leaves by a pair of contrarotating cutter rollers equipped with respective blades. Each single leaf serves as a wrapper for a relative pack, fashioned so that when torn open by pulling the ribbon, the ribbon encounters the slit and initiates two break lines extending away from the ribbon on either side to facilitate the removal of the wrapper in its entirety.
