A flexibility region comprises one tubular segment of the guide catheter with a non-linear longitudinal seam between two non-concentric layers of material having different durometers. A non-linear seam, such as a zig-zag or sinusoidal configuration, permits controlled compression of lower durometer material between portions of higher durometer material.

The anchors are secured to tissue using a multi-opening guide tunnel that is configured to releasably retain one or more portions of the implant located between two of the anchors. The releasable retention of one or more intervening portions of the implant maintains the position of the implant and the guide tunnel until the implant is secured to the tissue. The multi-opening guide tunnel permits securement of the multiple anchors without requiring repositioning of the guide tunnel for each anchor.

The anchors have an elongate form following a curved arcuate path in a single turning direction. Each anchor has two legs arranged to diverge away from each other, where each leg has a substantially non-constant radius of curvature and a substantially straight distal tip. The anchors are secured to tissue using a multi-opening guide tunnel that is configured to releasably retain one or more portions of the implant located between two of the anchors. The releasable retention of one or more intervening portions of the implant maintains the position of the implant and the guide tunnel until the implant is secured to the tissue. One variation of a multi-opening guide tunnel comprises releasable retention flaps and an aperture capable of deploying a fluid contrast medium into a patient without interfering with anchor delivery.

摘要： An intravascular catheter capable of both rapid-exchange and over-the-wire modes of operation having a relatively long proximal shaft portion, a relatively short distal section and an intermediate shaft section, which connects the proximal shaft section and the distal shaft section. In one embodiment, the intermediate shaft section includes a guide wire port and a first guide wire lumen which extends throughout both the intermediate and distal shaft section, and a second guide wire lumen which extends throughout the entire catheter shaft. In another embodiment, the intermediate shaft section includes a y-lumen junction which allows a first guide wire lumen introduced at the intermediate shaft section and a second guide wire lumen extending from the proximal end of the catheter shaft throughout the proximal shaft section to merge and communicate with a single distal guide wire lumen which extends from the intermediate shaft section to the distal end of the catheter shaft. In another embodiment, the catheter shaft includes a single guide wire lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end wherein the guide wire lumen is defined by a proximal section and a distal section. The proximal section guide wire lumen includes a slit which allows a guide wire to be removed for rapid-exchange mode of operation or retained for over-the-wire mode of operation.
