The system and method includes receiving gestures from a stylus and a tablet associated with the system. Upon recognizing the gesture as belonging to a set of known and recognized gestures, the system creates an embeddable object, initiates a search with terms indicated by the gesture, associates the search results with the created object and inserts the object in close proximity with the terms that instigated the search.

These objects may be encoded with a pattern that facilitates computerized recognition in the image of the response selected by the participant and participant identifier. Based on information acquired from the image, the system can automatically, or with user input, analyze responses from the group of participants.

摘要： A method and system for performing distance-based accelerated scrolling are described. The system accelerates scrolling based on the distance that a user has already scrolled, and continues to scroll in a quick manner. Using a conventional wheelmouse, consecutive quick flicks of the wheel may be used as an approximation of the distance that the user has scrolled, based on the effort the user expends flicking the wheel. The system inhibits acceleration when the user slows down or reverses direction in order to return fine scrolling capabilities to the user to locate an exact position in a data file.

According to an alternative embodiment, an enhanced mouse cursor is generated by interpolating the mouse cursor's path and adding a motion-blur effect along the interpolated path. According to yet another embodiment, an enhanced mouse cursor is generated by interpolating the mouse cursor's path and a plurality of mouse cursor images are displayed along the interpolated path.

摘要： A virtual space for displaying the pointer in a visually correct manner on a multi-monitor computer system is presented. The virtual space is kept separate from the internal display surface of the multi-monitor computer system upon which information is written to be displayed on the monitors. The virtual space is established such that the virtual display areas of the virtual space reflect the visual arrangement of the monitors. The virtual space captures all pointer movements, such as by a mouse or other input device, and moves the pointer within the virtual space. On a pointer update frame, the pointer is mapped from the virtual space to the internal display space such that the pointer may be displayed on the monitors.
