摘要： Systems and methods for extracorporeal processing of blood or other body fluid for the treatment of conditions, such as sepsis, autoimmune disease, or toxemia related to kidney failure, liver failure, or drug overdose are provided. In an extracorporeal treatment system, a fraction of a body fluid is passed into a treatment fluid, at least a portion of which is then passed through a sorbent suspension reactor for treatment by a sorbent suspension. The treatment fluid circuit can be maintained at a fixed volume, which enables accurate fluid balance between the patient and the extracorporeal circuit. Some or all of the treatment fluid, optionally also containing nutrients and/or therapeutic agents, is returned to the patient. In a peritoneal dialysis system, dialysate is passed into a patient's peritoneal cavity, recovered from the cavity, passed through a sorbent suspension reactor in accordance with the invention, and returned to the cavity.

摘要： A system for detecting the presence, in an audio channel which may contain voice signals, of a tone at a frequency selectable from among a plurality of selectable frequencies. A bandpass filter receives the audio input; its center frequency is selectable in response to a control signal. A first detector circuit provides from the output of the bandpass filter an output signal when a tone containing substantial energy at about said center frequency is input to the filter. A band-stop filter having the same center frequency as the bandpass filter also receives the input audio; a second detector circuit demodulates and thresholds the band-stop filter output. A micro-controller provides the control signal to set the center frequencies of said filters in response to user selection and analyzes the detector circuit output signals and generates an output signal when the output signal from the first detector circuit indicates the presence of a tone for a predetermined time and the output signal from the second detector circuit indicates the lack of presence of substantial energy at frequencies other than the center frequency for the same predetermined time. Optionally, the invention is applied to substitute for the operator a more pleasing signal than a tone at said filter center frequency.

摘要： The present invention relates to one of two embodiments, which provide a refrigeration jacket that can be placed over or surround electronic equipment, such as the tower of a personal computer, a plasma television, or a video game console. The primary embodiment of the invention comprises an extendable jacket or cabinet that has a plurality of cooling coils running throughout the jacket or cabinet. The invention also requires a refrigeration compressor and condenser, an electrical cord, and a closing means. When in use, the cooling coils refrigerate the surrounding air, which in turn cools the electronic item in use. The result is an electronic item that can run for pro-longed periods of time as well as higher speeds due to the removal of heat associated with the computer's processor. Other embodiments include a computer game console embodiment, a plasma television embodiment, and a non-expandable computer console embodiment.
