    • Apparatus for supporting conduits within a sanitary environment. Some supports are configured so as to avoid the formation of surfaces that might collect dust, debris, cleaning fluids, etc. when installed. In one embodiment, the support includes a pair of opposing support members that may be releasably and sealingly secured together. The upper support member may have a substantially uninterrupted convex surface that has a desired texture. The lower support member may be sized and shaped such that no portion thereof protrudes outwardly beyond the upper member to form any surfaces, pockets, etc. wherein dirt, debris, cleaning fluids, etc. may accumulate. A seal or grommet may be employed to establish a seal between the conduit and support to prevent the infiltration of dirt, debris, cleaning fluids, etc., between the conduit and the conduit support. The fasteners employed to couple the first and second support members together may be dimensioned so that their outer edges do not protrude laterally beyond the outer surface of the upper support member.

    • An article of seating furniture is provided with a lift mechanism. The article can be a chair with a base and a seat that is pivotally connected to the base. A back is coupled to the seat and may be either fixed to the seat or rotatably coupled to the seat. An actuator is mounted to the base extending towards the rear of the chair. The actuator is pivotally coupled to the base on one end and is pivotally coupled to the seat on the other end. The actuator moves the seat between a generally horizontal position and a raised position. With the back rotatably mounted to the seat, a linkage bar can be added that extends from base front to a bracket that mounts the back to the seat. The linkage bar reclines the back as the seat is raised from horizontal position to the raised position.

    • An apparatus and method for protecting an occupant of a building from flying debris from a frangible structure of the building, such as a window or the like, in the event of an explosion or other blast. A protective barrier is positioned adjacent the building structure and is constructed to be deployed by inflation of at least a portion thereof. The protective barrier is movable from a stored position adjacent the building structure to a deployed position in which it covers the building structure. A gas generating device is connected to the protective barrier and is operable to generate gas to inflate the protective barrier and move it to the deployed position in response to the sensing of an explosion or other blast by a sensing device located remote from the building.

    • Birds are conveyed in a suspended series through a poultry processing plant in a legs and tail up attitude, and a series of bird support brackets are moved down an incline from above the path of the birds in timed relationship with the movement of the birds and the birds are guided to the bird support brackets until the bird support brackets at least partially support and guide the birds. Each bird support bracket comprises an upper and lower horizontal plate and a vertical plate joining the two horizontal plates giving the bracket an approximately Z-shape, and a pair of downwardly extending side leg members are mounted to the support bracket on opposite sides of the lower plate at the intersection of the lower plate and the vertical plate. As the birds and support brackets continue their movement, a rotatable cutting disc which defines a series of peripheral notches engages and severs the oil bag tissue from the birds.
