    • To provide a polyether polyol composition, whereby the reaction rate with a polyisocyanate can be controlled, and an isocyanate group-terminated prepolymer excellent particularly in storage stability can be given. A polyether polyol composition comprising a polyether polyol obtained by ring-opening polymerization of an alkylene oxide in the presence of a composite metal cyanide complex catalyst, and a phosphoric acid compound comprising a phosphoric acid selected from orthophosphoric acid, polyphosphoric acid and polymetaphosphoric acid, and/or a partial ester of such a phosphoric acid, characterized in that the polyether polyol composition contains metals derived from the composite metal cyanide complex catalyst in an amount of from 1 to 30 ppm based on the polyether polyol, and the above phosphoric acid compound in an amount of from 0.5 to 100 ppm based on the polyether polyol.

    • Poly.alpha.-olefin, for example, polypropylene, is produced with an excellent yield by bringing, in the presence of an organic acid ester, a feed, containing at least one .alpha.-olefin having 3 or more carbon atoms, for example, propylene, into contact with a catalyst which comprises (A) a solid catalytic ingredient prepared (a) by reacting a Grignard compound of the formula, R.sup.3 MgX wherein R.sup.3 =C.sub.1-8 alkyl and X=halogen, with a reaction product of an aluminium halide with an organic silicon compound of the formula, R.sub.n.sup.1 Si(OR.sup.2).sub.4-n, wherein R.sup.1 =C.sub.1-8 alkyl or phenyl, R.sup.2 =C.sub.1-8 alkyl, n=1, 2 or 3, (b) bringing the resultant reaction product into a first contact with titanium tetrahalide, (c) treating the resultant titanium-containing solid product with an organic acid ester, and, finally, (d) bringing the treated solid product into a second contact with titanium tetrahalide, and; (B) another catalytic ingredient consisting of a trialkyl aluminium of the formula, AlR.sub.3.sup.4 wherein R.sup.4 =C.sub.2-6 alkyl.

    • An .alpha.-olefin polymer having an excellent H.I. is produced with a high yield by bringing, in the presence of an organic acid ester, a feed containing at least one .alpha.-olefin, having 3 or more carbon atoms, into contact with a catalyst composed of:a solid catalytic ingredient which has been prepared in such a manner that an aluminosiloxy compound of the formula, ##STR1## wherein X.sup.1 represents a chlorine atom, a bromine atom or an iodine atom, is reacted with a Grignard compound of the formula R.sup.1 MgX.sup.2 [II] wherein R.sup.1 represents an alkyl radical having 1 to 8 carbon atoms and X.sup.2 represents a halogen atom, the resultant solid reaction product is brought into contact with a titanium tetrahalide, the resultant titanium-containing solid product is treated with an organic acid ester, and the treated solid product is brought into contact with a titanium tetrahalide; anda trialkyl aluminum.
