    • An enclosure for housing sub-racks carrying circuit boards and modules carrying other electricalcomponents comprises two separately formed identical bodies, each of which constitutes an end wall and a part of each of a pair of oppositely disposed side walls and which are secured together to form an enclosure having two oppositely disposed open faces. Adjacent one of the open faces of the enclosure, means is provided on which sub-racks and modules can be detachably mounted in the enclosure either with the front faces of the sub-racks and modules flush with the open face of the enclosure or with the faces of the sub-racks and modules set back from the open face. Preferably, inner parts of the end walls of the bodies adjacent the other open face of the enclosure are so shaped that sub-racks and modules can be trapped in the enclosure between the inner parts of the end walls when the enclosure is assembled.

    • Apparatuses for achieving high bit densities in a direct-sequence CDMA spread spectrum communication system are disclosed. A table of orthogonal pseudo-noise codes is stored. This table is then partitioned into multiple codebook. Then, the codebook is assigned to a user. The pseudo-noise code contained within the codebooks are used to spread information signal. Information signal for a first user is spread by a pseudo-noise code contained within the codebook assigned to the first user. Multiple bits of information signal may be sent at a time by using the location of the pseudo-noise code within the codebook such that the value of the information signal corresponds the location of the pseudo-noise code within the codebook. The information signal is then despread by using the same pseudo-noise code.

Each transverse member is made from bars or tubes in a skeletal form with at least one recess in the side of the transverse member. The skeletal form of each transverse member makes it cheap to manufacture and can provide for large recesses, thereby facilitating cable access. The electrical cabinet comprises removable side panels and a door mounted on the frame. The frame can also provide mounting points for subracks of electrical or electronic components.
