摘要： The present invention pertains to novel yeast cells which are useful for the expression of heterologous G protein coupled receptors. The yeast cells of the present invention can be used in screening assays which can be used to screen for modulators of G protein coupled receptors. Specifically, the invention provides novel yeast cells which express a heterologous G protein coupled receptor and mutant and/or chimeric G protein subunit molecules which serve to functionally integrate the heterologous into the pheromone signaling pathway of the yeast cell. The invention also provides for the expression of heterologous G protein coupled receptors which are functionally integrated into the yeast cell membrane using a yeast a factor leader sequence. Drug discovery assays using the subject yeast cells are also provided.

摘要： An interleaver or deinterleaver comprises a memory having M logical memory units arranged in groups of N memory units such that accesses to memory units within a group are faster after a first access to a memory in that group using first access. An address generator is arranged to write consecutive data items a number of memory units apart that is less than the size of groups N of memory units so that two or more data items are written within groups. The arrangement provides fast interleaving without increasing memory size.

摘要： One variation of a device for sexual stimulation includes: an interaction module, a power module, and a control module. The interaction module includes a housing, a female power port supported by the housing, and a first and a second vibratory actuator coupled to the female power port, isolated from the housing, and supported by the housing. The power module includes a battery coupled to a male power port. The male power port is configurable between: a first configuration in which the male power port transiently couples to an external power source to charge the battery; and a second configuration in which the male power port transiently retains the interaction module and powers the vibratory actuators to generate haptic vibratory stimulation. The control module configured to control vibratory magnitude settings and vibratory pattern settings of the vibratory actuators based upon inputs at input regions.

摘要： Air filtering devices are disclosed that contain a first filter cartridge having a cartridge inlet and a cartridge outlet and a curved filter bed having a concave surface disposed such that air to be filtered passes through the inlet, the curved filter bed, and the outlet. The air filtering devices also contain a blower assembly having a blower inlet in fluid communication with the cartridge outlet and a blower outlet, the blower assembly includes a motor proximate to the concave surface of the curved filter bed. The motor has a rotational axis such that the rotational axis is adjacent to the center of curvature of the curved filter bed. The air filtering device may be used in powered air purifying respirators.

摘要： A method of controlling a powered air purifying respirator blower system to deliver a substantially uniform volumetric airflow to a user includes the steps of determining one of (a) ambient air density or (b) ambient air temperature and ambient air pressure, and adjusting an electrical characteristic of the electric motor in response to the determination and the at least two calibration values. The powered air purifying respirator blower system may include a fan powered by an electric motor, the motor being controlled by an electronic control unit for delivering a forced flow of filtered air to a user. In some embodiments, the electronic control unit may be operable to adjust an electrical characteristic of the motor in accordance with a predetermined correlation between the speed of the fan and the applied motor electrical characteristic for a selected substantially uniform volumetric airflow from the fan.

摘要： A sound absorbent barrier has a sound absorbent layer disposed between a porous first cover and a second cover. The barrier also has a waterproof sound-permeable membrane between the first cover and the sound absorbent layer. The sound absorbent layer is thus protected from damage by the first and second covers and water ingress is prevented by the sound permeable membrane. The second cover may be non-porous to reflect sound waves which have passed through the sound absorbent layer back through the sound absorbent layer. Alternatively, the second cover may be porous to enable absorption of sound from two directions.
