    • Methods and apparatus for distributing events among a set of traffic processor in a telecommunication network. The methods and apparatus determines a traffic processor from the set of traffic processors with the lowest traffic load, the traffic load is determined for each traffic processor of the set of traffic processors based on a weighting factor, an event queue length of a traffic processors and a current traffic load. Events are re-distributed when a change occurs in the set of traffic processors.     • The invention relates to a method for services sharing in a communications network having the following steps. First, a server or a User Equipment (UE) creates a group of users and defines one or more services owned by one or more users of the group of users as services shared by the group of users and available for use by users of the group of users. The users of the group can then receive a list of the services shared, add a new service to the services shared, search for a service, receive a service status for a service, use a service or remove a service from the list of services shared by the group of users.     • A system and method for managing edge servers and the location of edge servers in a content delivery network is provided. Incoming content requests to a plurality of existing edge servers are analyzed with respect to their originating locations. It is determined that a new edge server should be added to the network at a location where none of the plurality of existing edge servers reside. A data center is selected in accordance with the desired location, and a new edge server is instantiated. Traffic handled by two or more of the existing edge servers can be consolidated and routed to the new edge server. Edge servers are dynamically added to and removed from the network.

    • A system and method for managing a hybrid firewall solution, employing both hardware and software firewall components, for a cloud computing data center is provided. A virtual application is hosted by a first plurality of application virtual machines and a second plurality of firewall virtual machines provides firewalling services for traffic associated with the virtual application. A cloud management entity determines that the virtual application requires an increased number of application virtual machines. A security profile for the virtual application is verified to determine if an increased number of firewall virtual machines is required by the increased number of application virtual machines. The cloud management entity can instantiate additional application virtual machines and firewall virtual machines as required.
