摘要： The present invention provides a portable dental system for use in areas having inadequate sources of power, either for human or for veterinary dentistry. The system provides one or more handpieces, each driven driven by a pressurized nitrogen gas contained in a portable tank. A water reservoir is also provided for medicated water to be applied to the tooth site. The system has two channels to which either a conventional dental handpiece or an abrasive handpiece can be attached. When two abrasive handpieces are attached, two different abrasive materials may be used by the system, one material for cleaning and one material for cutting or abrading.

摘要： The present invention relates to a medical prosthesis for use within the body, which is formed of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene having a polymeric structure with less than about 50% crystallinity, less than about 290 Å lamellar thickness and less than about 940 MPa tensile elastic modulus, so as to reduce production of fine particles from the prosthesis during wear of the prosthesis. The present invention also relates to methods of manufacture of such devices and material used therein.

Before or after deposit on the bindery chain conveyor, coded indicia on the pre-personalized signatures are machine read and processed through a control processor and related storage memory for locating and printing recipient name and address information on the magazine cover, matched to the pre-personalized signature.

摘要： Apparatus and method for polymerizing cement under pressurized conditions and for applying the cement under pressure at the appropriate time to a human bone cavity for implantation of a prosthesis, including a stemmed femoral component and an acetabular component. This apparatus alters the physical conditions under which bone cement cures, causing a decrease in cement porosity and thus increasing the resultant cement strength. The apparatus includes a pneumatically actuated gun having a piston for applying pressure to the cement, and applying cement to the bone, a pressurizable housing securable to the gun for containing the cement, and a nozzle having a valve which allows the cement to remain pressurized until application thereof through the nozzle. In one embodiment, one component of a two component polymerizable cement is provided in a sealed bladder secured to the nozzle while the other component is injected into the bladder and mixed with the first component when the cement is ready for use. A vent may be provided in the piston of the pneumatic gun to allow air to escape through the piston to prevent the injection of air into the cement. A sealing gasket may be provided on the end of the nozzle for placement over the open end of the bone cavity so that cement can be applied thereto under pressure.

摘要： A host based security system for a computer network includes in communication with the network a credential host that is operative in concert with a local computer and a destination site. The destination site has a credential authentication policy under which credentials associated with the local computer upon being authenticated authorizes data to be communicated between each of the destination site and the local computer during a communication session over the network. The credential host stores the credentials to be used by the destination and is operative to transmit the credentials onto the network in response to a request received from the local computer. The destination site upon the credentials being received and authenticated thereat is operative to transmit session information onto the network. In turn, the local computer is then operative to commence the communication session upon receipt of said the information.
