In one aspect of the invention, a content bearing medium is provided. The content bearing medium has a content bearing signal stored thereon and a communication circuit. The communication circuit is adapted to exchange wireless signals with a remote programming device and to store an additional content bearing signal in a memory based upon the signals exchanged. The communication circuit is further adapted to transmit the additional content signals upon request by a player of the content bearing medium so that the player can receive the additional content signals and present an output that is based, at least in part, upon the stored signals.

摘要： A viewing device and method are provided for use with an image transparency having an associated tracking memory. The viewing device has a display adapted to present at least two illumination patterns, a reader device for obtaining data stored in a tracking memory of an image transparency positioned proximate to the display surface, and a control processing unit. The control processing unit is adapted to receive the obtained data and to generate more than one illumination pattern with a first of the illumination patterns formed for passing through the transparency and second of the illumination patterns formed for viewing on the display without passing through the transparency, wherein the appearance of at least one of the illumination patterns is determined based upon the data obtained from the tracking memory.

In a first aspect of the invention what is provided is a method for distributing an image-recording medium. A gap is maintained such that the surface of the layer of thermoresist material is spaced apart from the surface of the substrate by a number of spacing elements. Thermal energy is directed toward the donor element (12) according to the resist pattern, whereby a portion of thermoresist material is transferred from the donor element (12) across the gap by ablative transfer and is deposited onto the substrate (18) forming the resist pattern.
